Some great artworks.
I found this in the entrance hall of an old age home.
The interesting thing is that the stones are real, and the birds were handmade and pasted onto the pictures. Releasing almost a 3D effect.
I do apologize for the bit of haziness in the first photo as the sharp lights in a dim atmosphere disturbed my focus. But I will show you some better shots of the subject below. Nothing can be taken for granted, and that is why we love these unexpected sights so often. I was thinking that maybe we must go and have a look at all the old-age homes around here, as I bet some of them will also be filled with artworks and paintings on the walls.
Only the two McCaw parrots were painted on the picture at the right-hand side. All of the other birds were handmade and added afterwards.
Check out the little green frog that was pasted on a stone below the birds at the right.
This below is perhaps the best sight of the stones and the birds in the pictures.
And then, after the visit, we stopped here for some coffee.
Every weekend there are some flea markets in a park near this coffee station, and I want to show you some real African art.
Finally, we had a bit of welcome rain on our way back home.
We love these days, when we encounter unexpected sights. The careful treatment and placement of the stones on the pictures really surprised us, as it formed a natural part, so to speak, to the three pictures. The little birds were made either out of tin, or paper mâché, and they were intricately painted.
Lately, we are getting these unexpected rains that even catch the weather forecasters by surprise. We had a lovely drizzle a couple of weeks ago, and then from the 1st of February the rain has been accompanied by very strong winds and for every few minutes the water will come hammering down onto our roof at night. We do not usually have thunder and lightning here, but that has changed now as the clouds sound very angry. The weather seems to be changing very rapidly every year, as we are in a winter rainfall season and now we are still in high summer.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the outing.
