Normally Sundays are peaceful, but ...
...Sundays can at times be a day of struggle.
So, I will start the post with some peaceful bird action.
I wonder how many people feel stressed as they have to return to the slog of work on a Monday? Sunday is the last day of the weekend, and the mornings normally start when we are still in a placid mood. Some go for walks, others have a barbeque with family and friends and yet others go for picnics. This is only to mention a few examples of what I have seen that people do on a Sunday. But then as the end of the day nears, many start to have a habitual resentment, as they know that their work will start again at the morrow. But it also happens in nature, as I decided to use some bird photos to demonstrate my point.
So, come and see.
This is the story of a happy Coot in a peaceful setting on a Sunday morning.
Look how happy the coot was with its breakfast.
And now, this little Southern Double-collared sat preparing himself for bed, on an old pipe that used to have a satellite dish screwed onto it.
His wife was on her nest here at the front door of our house. This guy hangs around in the vicinity to guard his wife and the nest and he will dive bomb any other small birds that come into our front garden.
Now for the stressful part of the Sunday story. The crows had a peaceful day until this below happened. A Harrier Hawk entered their territory and as the crows had nests in the territory, they had to attack the hawk to keep him away from their nests.
Here, another crow came in and you can see the hawk turning away. Unfortunately, they dived beyond the trees and I couldn't get some more shots of them, but I know that they were successful in their attack.
Now imagine how stressed the crows must be, as they have to do this almost every day of the week and there is no rest for them on a Sunday. The people that work in the hospitals, and other public service entities, also have very few Sundays off. So, what is it then that stresses us out about the impending return to work on a Monday? I used to preach for many years, and I also regarded that as work on a Sunday, and likewise continued into the weekdays, so, I never built-up anticipation for a Monday.
Some people may not be happy in the profession or work they find themselves in, some may not feel fulfilled every day, others should have studied something different from what they did, while others may not feel appreciated in their workplace. Some people should rather work for themselves, while others don't mind working for a boss.
We are all so different, but one thing we should feel is fulfilled in our daily work. Is it one's passion? Is it one's calling? Is it what comes naturally to one? Or is one trapped in a place due to circumstance or life's lot?
I hope that all can eventually find their passion and true flow, so that each day melts into the next with enjoyment, fulfillment, and fruitfulness.
Such is life.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

Great observations and photos. I saw something similar with thrushes and kites. But of these, helpless kites are more stressed😁
Thank you, and yes, the smaller birds defend their territories with great courage. Glad that you have also seen it.
