Making new friends on a rainy day.

We know what they like and so we lay out a free meal for them.

She is a wet Gray Squirrel and still new to us, as we have recently moved here.

The way to make friends with them is by the way of food that they like. A few days ago she took a strawberry, but today in the soft rain her choice was Goose berries. Eventually she will bring her family along and we will have a nation of squirrels once again.
Another character also appeared to take a bath in the road at the front of our place, so come and have a look.

Guaranteed that she will be back tomorrow.

And here was the next character.

A wet Hadeda Ibis was on our driveway and it wanted to get the rain water off.

So it popped down into the culvert to shake the water off.

Then it flew up onto the roof to complete the drying process before nightfall.

I decided to post this in here at #photographylovers to show you some of Mother nature's wonders. It is a bit different from the normal fare, but maybe you will like it. We take so many of the little creatures for granted, but a deeper look can reveal many surprises to us, especially during these times where so many bird species are threatened with extinction. Maybe one day our children and their children will only be able to see them in museums. So, while we still have them let us appreciate them.
Just my own thoughts.

And That's All Friends.

I had a grey squirrel that used to visit our garden last year. He would help himself to to food on my bird feeder. I've been doing a lot of work in our garden and took the bird feeder down. I'm hoping he will come back as the weather gets colder. Although he will eat all the peanuts and deprive the Blue Tits and Great Tits of their food.
