He will never fly!

We named him Marty meaning Martyr as although I rescued him, too much damage was done by the strong wind and the rain.

Day 3 that we have him now after I picked him up in a pool of rainwater and he has survived. So we made him a new house and in this house he will spend his lifetime. A sad story as he will never feel the freedom joys of flying due to his undeveloped wings.
But he is a feisty little fellow and clambers all over the show.
Below I will show you his feeding process and the introduction to his new home.

4 parts of pure, raw honey and 8 parts of water mixed is what he likes.

Feeding done as he was rolling up his long tongue that acts as a straw.
The tongue is called a Proboscis.

And here below was the welcome to his new home.

Marian filled the container with twigs and leaves of the tree that he was blown out of.

So he frittered and clambered around for awhile.

And finally here he came to rest.

We use a cloth for him to climb on when it's feeding time and his nectar drink is in a flat lid on my window sill that overlooks the small front garden. Our belief is that all life is sacred and I so wish that this belief could be multiplied in this country as we heard today that in the first quarter of this year more that 6000 people were murdered. Mostly women by their partners. Shocking stats methinks and we can only hope and pray that some real action would be taken to stop this flood of madness.
In any case life goes on and we just have to endure, exactly the same as little Marty here.

I hope that you enjoyed Marty's new home.

And That's All Friends.

Marty is a Citrus Swallowtail. You will often find them around your lemon tree and the caterpillars feed on the leaves

Thank you Julie and that's what we always do.
The sad thing is that he will never fly, but we will do what we can for him.

Yep, I so wish that all would view life in any form as sacred as the day that happens, this world would drastically change for the better.

So lucky for Marty you found him. Life is precious thing.
Shocking statistics indeed about the murdered women. What's wrong with people, will humans ever learn to respect others? Just rhetorical question.

I was destined to find him and we are happy that he is still alive.
Yes, it makes for harrowing reading and the people seems to be at war with themselves.
Respect is non-existent, as anger and alcohol rules.
