He didn't expect us meeting.

The little guy came sauntering up in our front garden, until he saw me.
063.JPG

How now, he stopped in his tracks and looked straight at me.

So, how's this for a cheek, as he didn't run away and instead was rather weighing the odds. But no go as the place where we feed the nuts was behind me and he was in a dilemma. A very intelligent little guy and I really did not expect the outcome, as I wouldn't back off and neither would he.
So, come and watch the picture story.

First, he cut towards the right, but there was no way past me.
066.JPG

Then he turned towards the left, all the time watching me, but I stood very still.
068.JPG

And here the unexpected took place. The drain cover was about 1 meter to the left, and as he started digging, I almost laughed out loud.
070.JPG

The little tike remembered that he had buried some stock at the edge of the drain cover.
072.JPG

Suddenly, he looked up at the sky.
076.JPG

But there was no danger as that raptor bird was very high up.
077.JPG

Then it was back to business for him, as he went to the other side of the drain cover, and would you believe it that he remembered that he had stashed another nut there.
080.JPG

I am not kidding, as you can see for yourself. And the cheek is, that he still kept an eye on me.

What a wonderful lesson here for us, by nature. They say, never stash all your eggs in one basket. So, the way I see it, is he was teaching us to rather have multiple streams of income on Hive, instead of only stashing our income in one place. That little squirrel remembered where he had stashed some nuts away from the feeding spot, and I waited until he had finished eating before I clapped my hands to applaud him, and he took off.

I hope you have enjoyed the picture story.

Such a beautiful squirrel!! ❤️ When I lived out of the city I used to meet a lot of them, but the first (and last ^_^ ) time I touched one of them he/she bit me. :P I continue to love them, but maybe they doesn't love me. 😆

Thank you and they only nip when they are agitated. For about a year at our old place, there was one that we called "Squirry" and she used to jump on my wife to search her pockets for nuts. She knew that my wife always kept nuts for her in a pocket, and when she found a nut then she would hang upside down on my wife's back to eat the nut. Here she was on my wife.

If she couldn't find a nut, then she would nip my wife with her teeth, but it was never serious.
So, I don't think the squirrels don't love you, as instead they !LUV you :))
