Beauty of nature during a power cut.

This is how I spend my afternoon time during one of our daily power cuts.

024.jpg

No moaning and groaning, as that will not change things, and I rather flee into the welcoming arms of Mother nature.

It was a real moody afternoon to begin with, as we have had a lot of rain, and even though this was a rain free day, the winds gathered the clouds for the rain to start again during the evening. I was lucky to get some of the weather action and in here I will show you some lovely scenes created by the clouds on the land.
Come and look.

Moody clouds driven by the wind, as we left the house.
021.JPG

Look at that lovely sunspot line below the mountain.
027.JPG

A couple of Cape Bulbuls.
014.JPG

This is what I like to see, as look how the wind plays with the mountains.
088.JPG

This guy hovered above, and was taking photos of me.
113.JPG

So, I zoomed him, and I took a photo of him :)
111.JPG

Here is a later shot of the first picture, and soon all those leaves on the trees will be on the ground.
017.JPG

Just a final lovely colored picture, and we are now leaving the Autumn season behind, as the Winter rains have arrived.
038.JPG

And such is life here, as we suffer severe economy troubles with all of the power cuts, and things are also getting worse for us and the poor with the continued interest increases. But yes, we all try to do what we can to help but things are not easy nowadays. I like to ban all of the negativity from my mind, and nature is a good medium to fill my mind with positivity. Things are how they are meant to be, and it teaches all of us how to cope during the dire straits.
So be it and we simply have to endure.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

You have a beautiful place to spend the daily lack of energy, I thought that only that happened in my country, being without electricity is quite annoying and if you are in the city where you do not know where to go is worse, I'm glad you have natural spaces.

We have worked and stayed in a big city for 17 years with our charity and it all became too much as we started to have burn outs. So we moved down here to a rural town 4 years again and it is a real blessing, as we are now surrounded with nature and the ocean. It is the best medicine for one's soul.

Thank you Sir Julian and one has to work the opportunities in both good and bad !LOLZ
Do you guys also now have 4 power cuts per day?

We mostly have 3 power cuts still of two hours each, but a few times a week we have a 4 hour power cut, taking it up to 8 hours a day without power.

3x2.3 hour power cuts and 1x4hours. Sheer madness for us as we cannot make any plans.

You're very right, moaning doesn't help and when I'm out in nature I am also able to forget all the bad things here, which are nothing compared to what's going on in your country.

The Autumn is so beautiful and colourful, Zac, I love the clouds and the colours. The first image is my favourite - awesome colourful contrasts between the trees and the green hills in the background 😀

Thank you my friend and nature is a real pleasure to be in. The mountains tell me that everything will be all right one day, and for now we just have to endure. History shows us the up and down sequences of governance and the ocean waves tell me the same. We now have 4 power cuts again each day.

Thank you again, and Autumn is now on it's last legs, as you can see the line of trees has almost stripped all of its clothing. The first day June is winter and I think that's on Thursday. But as I said before, winter has arrived early with the rain. I am glad that you like the first photo as it is also my favorite 😃

Cheers and thanks.

That's true - it has all happened before and it will happen again, except 2000 years ago no people have glued themselves to the streets, I believe 🤣 !LOLZ

4 power cuts a day is mad - I have no idea how I could live like this.

1st of June is Thursday, that's right, and we then will me in Summer that hopefully will go quick because I'm looking forward to the Autumn colours like in your photos 😀

Well, all that I can say is that they regard their gluing to the street as progress 🤣 !LOLZ

Shame, 3 months is not that long and before you know it, Autumn will return 😉

Cheers and thanks.

They are nothing but stupid and they only listen to the wrong people because this climate-change thing is also a great business.

Autumn could already be here, I wouldn't mind 😉 !LOLZ

The climate-change thing is at times driven by scary stories, but one thing that is true, is that the weather patterns have changed, and the ice is melting in the Arctic. Just ask all of the volcanos that are now coming alive again and spewing lava all over the place. But of course, money making will always play a role in everything.

Time flies my friend and soon it will be December 😊 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I believe it all kind of repeats itself every few thousand or more years, although I have to admit that our behaviour makes it a lot worse and maybe it confuses Mother Nature.

And after December comes Spring and then it's Summer again 😂 !LOLZ

Well, there is a study that proclaims that the sixth extinction on this planet is on its way. We are not doing well my friend and Albert Einstein saw this so many years ago. He said that if all of the bees disappeared from the earth, then mankind will only live for 4 more years 😥

Oh yes, and another year off the retirement list. Time flies as it feels like we discussed your retirement period a few weeks ago. Soon mate, soon you will be set free 😃 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I would have thought it's more than only six times.
There are many more insects and animals who do the same work as the bees, but I agree that without the bees the plants would slowly die.

I think I should also see it that way - only 3 Springs left 😂 !LOLZ

He talked only about the bees, but I am sure that he was only giving an example and that it included all insects. If only people can understand the value of insects to the eco-system, instead of killing everything.

Yep! That's the way to look at it, as it sounds so much shorter. Do you know who they will appoint in your senior police position? Or will they leave it for a last minute decision 😊 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

The bees are the most important ones and not so many people know that also butterflies and other insects pollinate the plants.
I suppose that when the bees go the others will follow.

After I have left, my job is advertised and any police officer can apply. They may also be looking for interested parties beforehand so that interested police officers can take a closer look at the job beforehand. I do a lot more than my job description says, but I don't think my successor will do the same ... you have no idea how little I care 😂 !LOLZ

Yep, and there are some countries that have already almost wiped out their entire insect populations.
A scary thought indeed. Marian now has a book, called "The Insect Crisis" and the theme is, "The Fall of the Tiny Empires that Run the World". The author is Oliver Milman. Scary reading my friend.

Succession planning is most important for fluidity. You have a lifelong experience and for them not to tap into your experience in order to teach the new person is a big mistake. Mark my words and I have said this before, you can expect some panic calls and they might even offer you a contract 😉 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I don't think I want to read this book ... I always apologise when I notice that I accidently stepped on an insect.

Sadly that's the way our system works, but my co-workers know much about my work, so they can teach whoever will come after me 🤣 !LOLZ

Oh yes, it is a verry hard hitting book and if mankind doesn't change their ways, then we will all be in bad trouble before too long. Great that you care and we are the same 😊

You told me that before, and if it's their way to work, then soon you will be out of it and cruising around in the van to exotic locations 😃 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

Those mountains always look so beautiful. Much nicer spending loadshedding looking for beauty than sitting complaining about it all the time.
We're also back to the normal schedule as the rest of the country, so try to work around that.
Wishing you and Marian a wonderful week ahead.

Thank you Lady Lizzie and I said somewhere else that there are opportunities in both good and bad times and it is our habit to search them out. Life is what one makes of it and negativity is to be strictly avoided.
If "friends" don't build one up, then they are not friends and they need to be cut out.
Just my own philosophy of life.

Shame, so now I presume that you guys will also get 4 power cuts per day, As I read that Eskom has stopped with the exemptions. I know that you will manage somehow.

Thank you and a blessing also to you guys for the new week. Marian sends her love.

Your post made my day, I rather run too into the welcoming arms of mother nature , a life where there's political, social , economic etc troubles, sorrows, pains, sicknesses and all negativity but Nature takes our minds off the problem and keeps us focused on another reality. The realm of beauty and wonderful imaginations that gives a paradise experience. Indeed nature fills the mind with positivity. I feel so much for the poor and needy who the troubles of life have drained them, I always point them to nature and support them in my own way. God bless you for your encouraging picture ,you are blessing humanity.

Te admiro por buscar lo positivo cuando se va la luz, yo por lo general termino molesta 🙈 porque como suele ser de improvisto a veces tenía otras cosas planeadas.

I admire you for looking for the positive when the light goes out, I usually end up upset 🙈 because as it usually is unexpectedly sometimes I had other things planned.

I translated your comment into English and I agree that we also get the unexpected power cuts, and they create havoc. Positivity is essential to keep one's sanity.
Saludos!
