An unexpected actor at the harbor.

The guy just popped up out of nowhere and he put on a show for us, expecting that we will give him something to eat. So, it's not bad enough that we have to feed beggars at the side of the roads, as now we have them at the harbor as well.

We travelled to one of our local harbors on impulse, just to see if anything has changed there since our last visit a few months ago.

There are several harbors along our coastline, and each one has a different character. There are still one or two that we have not visited yet, but as soon as the petrol prices drop then we will make a plan to also get them off our list. A lot of work is in progress here, to get the province ready for the December holiday period, as thousands stream in from inland and tourists also arrive from other countries.
Let me show you what happened here.

Helooo cousins, he said, welcome to my place and I hope that you brought me some fish.

He smiled and said; Wait until you see my show, then your wife will empty her bag of fish for me.
383.JPG

How's this for an upside down, inside out move? Any fish yet?
426.JPG

I ignored him and took another shot of the harbor, as the cloud at the back was slowly moving over towards the left.
460.JPG

Hey, hey, hey buddy, can you see that I am still here and waiting?
436.JPG

Please, pretty please give me a fish.
421.JPG

You can see that I love you and that's why I am putting up a special show for you.
435.JPG

No, nothing? No reward? Even though I declared my love for you?
457.JPG

Well in that case, you are a cheapskate and I take back all that I said, as I didn't love you to start with. I am out of here, you schmuck!
451.JPG

That cloud reached a further point towards the left, and I loved how the mountain in the background was covered in cloud.

I think that this guy gets fish when the fishing trawlers come in with their catch of the day, as he was very friendly. But sadly we had not expected to see him, else we would have bought some sardines from the fishermen for him. At the charity we get many scam artists that will say anything to try to get money out of us. They refuse food donations, as many of them need money for their next drug fix. However, some are really needy and one has to have discernment to help the worthy cases, and to refuse the scammers.
This was a wonderful occasion and we loved to see how that seal swam around in the harbor.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

And That's All Friends.

It looks like your little seal knows exactly how to play to the visitors, ha ha ha.

This is a wonderful animal.
I'm pretty sure he won't spend his sardines on drugs, and that's a huge difference from the self-proclaimed "most intelligent" creature on the planet...

Thank you and yes, wonderful indeed. I am not so sure that the self-proclaimed, most intelligent creature is as intelligent as it claims to be. If it was, this world would be a better place.

Mr Seal will get a meal, plenty in the sea for him to chase, only one to watch out for are sharks not become their meal.

Whoonga (nyaope or wonga) addicts come out the bush lately to beg for money, no longer on street corners like previously. Offer food they scoff at you, drug is wicked beyond belief.

!LUV have a wonderful weekend.
!LOLZ enjoyed your story!

That seal is very clever, as he stays in the harbor precinct where the sharks cannot get to him !LOLZ

Yes, we also have the drug rings here that scoff at food. Money for drugs is the game and it's a sad story.

!LUV and hope that your weekend is good.

Seals hanging around in the harbour have been there for years, way bigger than the ones one the island by what I remember too.

Rehab homes, normal housing, giving people a reason to live, this would remove a lot of the problems, at the moment very slim lifeline to those forced to live on the street.

Yeah, they have learned the benefits of harbours, as it is safe and they also have easy food.
Very few of the ones that you mention and they are all full to the brim. The rehab success strike rate is also not so good, as many simply continue with their addictions when they are released.
You are right as the lifeline is very slim.
