Alternative sights at sunset.

I decided to do something different at sunset and hope that you will like it.

A lonely dove sat on a lamppost longing for summer.

It is cold here in South Africa, as winter will start on the 1st day of June, although we have already had a number of cold fronts come through our Western Cape Province from around April. But there have been some beautifully warm and sunny days in-between the cold ones, so we are fortunate with the weather here. Also, our coldest temperatures, in our particular area, do not go below 0 degrees. There are many parts, however, in the Western Cape that do get very cold. Sutherland, for example, is at minus 5 degrees already (minimum temperature) and we are not in the heart of our SA winter yet.

The clouds take full advantage of the skies, but block out our warm sunshine, otherwise our winter temperatures may be a bit higher. So, our winter sunsets are cool and cloudy.

The birds don't seem to mind, as you will see below. They fly in abandonment.

And then, the sun was slowly starting to close things down.

But wait, let's see how this late visitor below takes off.

Then my hands were like ice blocks, and the cold wind started to burn my ears. Soon we will have to start wearing our winter gear, but like the birds, I don't mind as I take photos in all of the seasons. In the meantime, the national elections are now over, and they are busy counting the votes for a final result. We listen on the radio at the tussle between the political parties for top results. I think that after this election, things will take a drastic change in our country, and we can only hope and pray for the better, as currently things are in a sad state. There was a large turnout with the voting, and people want this change. So, we wait in anticipation and hope.
Such is life.
