A swift walk on the beach.

I call it a swift walk because you will see some Swift Terns in action.
091 (2).jpg

A Happy Friday to all and I hope things are better at your end than what they are here.

We took an early walk in stormy weather on the beach and it was high tide, so I decided to focus on the terns, as they were a bit closer to the beach.
The photos in here are all fresh from my camera and I hope that you will like this presentation today.
Come and have a look.

So lovely to breathe the ocean air at the start of our day before going to work. It is a real uplifting experience, especially as we are in the midst of some problems. Thankfully nothing serious and just life's habit to grab at us at times. The ocean is the place where one can have the freedom to think rationally, as the waves and the birds talk to me.
Things will be as they are meant to be and like the birds we have to manage every opportunity. The waves sing their up and down song to tell me that life is also like this. Sometimes things in life are up and then they are down. Just the way of life.

And That's All Friends.

Getting down to the beach is long overdue here, E.coli found in river and sea sorry no walks at the moment!

Enjoyed your tumultuous thoughts with birds racketeering on shoreline, hope whatever has rocked your boat is minor problem.

Happy Friday,

Oh yes, I read about the E.coli problems there and it's bad news. One can only wonder at what effects it will eventually have, as it is a continual problem.

Thank you and it was a great half an hour.
Still torn in two at the moment and I hate having to take decisions that I don't like.

Hope that you guys will also have a good weekend my friend.

New problems around every corner of late!

Making pots of soup, chicken with noodles for families to enjoy over what is promised a slightly wet weekend.

Bad out there and let's just hope that they can get it all right before December. Which I doubt.

Same here and also in crypto my friend.

A secret to share with you, I don't eat soup. Had a bad childhood experience and never touched soup again.

We have 6 pots at Papillon that are as big as small swimming pools and our soup feeds hundreds of people in the poor areas Lady Joan. Especially during the cold winters here.

Big pots like that working out of NGO NPO places, we support by supplying ingredients.

Where people have water this method has become popular here....

Private home I make biggish pots enough to feed a few families in the neighbourhood.

Looks very healthy Lady Joan and yes, specially balanced meals that can be made with cold water is of the essence. We supply balanced meals in big bags to the schools (21) in the area that can last for a full year's meals.

Here at home we only make food parcels.

Oh yes and even encouraged by some to have more babies.
Nevertheless we help where we can.

Some shocking news today as it is said that there is no billion rand that will be paid to KZN for the flood assistance. Everyone said that the grant would be controlled to prevent corruption and now there's no grant.
Maybe I heard wrong and let's hope so.

Some areas still without water, pumps pumping sewerage directly into rivers and sea now also enduring rolling blackouts not only local but national as well.

Simply said, it's a fuck up! My words not yours,I know you better than that 🙂

And so in the news today, two ministers spent 15 million on travel. Where is the oversight I ask. I simply cannot understand why this is allowed as we have serious issues in this country that needs urgent fixing.

I can fully understand your feelings Lady Joan, as we are all trapped in this maelstrom of utter greed.

Thankfully it's been cancelled and I hope that the Cuba donation will also be cancelled as our poor people suffer here.

All so unnecessary Lady Joan, and if the wasting of our tax payments can be stopped so much more can be done. I say cancel all luxuries for politicians and focus on serving the people.

Hope that you guys will also have a good weekend.

Charity starts in the home, South Africa is our home, once all realize this, stop worrying what any other country has to say about history in helping during struggle, let go of the past and move forward, life may take on better meaning.

Move politics into three parties (left/right/intelligent) not the hundred delegates on scroll sitting with palms showing for money, or offering false promises. Root out the qualified to best lead. Confusion reigns with the hundreds of small parties springing up everywhere.

Never to happen as everyone is mired in the past and of course the politicians use the past as a voting tool.
The money pots are the only target that they have in mind. To get to them and then to live in luxury. So the serving of the people plays no role in their plans, except as voting fodder.

Well enjoy your party with !WINEX !BEER and !PIZZA

Election time they shoot each other to gain a spot, heckle in houses of parliament, now burned down not sure where Indaba will be held... Still no sight or sound of relevant treason charges brought to book!

Cold enough down on the coast, many still living in halls not yet housed, Would be most interesting not having news about 6 covid deaths nightly. how many are starving or freezing to death!

Since first floods approximately 30k more people out of work, crime very much on the increase, now let us think about the next way to spin money out of the people!

Ja/Nee !LUV to the family, stay safe!

All hot air and empty promises, they will say and do anything to continue delving in the money pots and killing sounds to be acceptable as nobody is ever caught.

Serious trouble over there my friend and help is nowhere to be available.

Rate hikes, increases all over the place and sadly blowing the bugles about the counties upgrade by Moody's.

Ingonyma Trust 'bright' ideas between NAT old "democracy" and Zulu Tribe. Perhaps time to dismantle under current democracy selling tracts of land for all to use.

South Africa will never be a settled country until all fall under one banner of being South African, tribal, religious, cultural, political splits that were very well embedded by the NATS have continued, now very efficiently used by politicians.

No matter what Moody or any outside entity has to say, people on the ground know this place has gone down the tubes....

It would be wonderful to have a walk on the beach in the morning before going to work, but I think I would rather stay there and enjoy watching and photographing the birds, just like you did, and forget to go to the office ... maybe they wouldn't even miss me 😁

As you know the beach is only 6 kilometers away my friend, so it is very easy no nip down there for a breather. I call it a quick recharge of my batteries 🤣

30 minutes is our limit and yes, we stick to it as in that 30 minutes I can take many photos, as I know exactly where to go.
For a change there was a dog on the beach this morning, so I asked him to scare the birds to fly so that I could get some nice shots.

I asked him and he said his name is Shadow, or Blacky, but I forget as I can't remember names 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Aha, so you have got another photography assistant now besides Marian. He has done a great job, you should keep him, my friend 😁

I would love to have a beach that near, but I have to drive for 2.5 hours to be at a tourist beach in Italy.

Drat! A lifesaver dog arrived to chase my new assistant away Hannes.
152.jpg

I know that feeling about being far away from the sea, as 4 years ago we still lived up north in the country and the nearest sea in Durban was 600+ kilometers away. A trip of about 7 hours.
So thankfully our situation is changed now.

Cheers and thanks.

That's a beautiful dog, although your assistant is now gone.

Well I will sure find another assistant my friend, nature is full of volunteers 🤞

We discovered a huge change here and I will never stay in a seafront house Hannes.
Up here in town the wind is light and pleasant, then we went down to the beach and the wind was fierce.
Coming in from the open sea, it hits the beach and the houses in full force.
So close, but not too close is always better 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, I have seen videos of such storms and these houses at the beach have to be built different from other houses, I believe, so that you can sit inside and enjoy the waves crashing against your windows 😁

Terrible my friend especially facing the stormy Atlantic ocean. The houses and buildings are all brick and plaster and some of them were built in the 1930s.
They have built some concrete bulwarks in order to protect the beach road, but the waves crashes right over them and fill the road with white beach sand.

Cheers and thanks.

I wonder why they don't build them to stay during the worst weather. The people who can afford a house at the water should be able to afford stronger buildings.

Totally agreed with you, but most people already have houses inland and they build the houses at the sea as holiday houses. So they don't want to spend much money on a holiday house, as they only use it once a year. We see many houses here that are vacant for the whole year until the owners come to stay for the December holidays. 3 weeks and then the house is empty again.

Cheers and thanks.

Somehow I understand it, but somehow I don't. I would build my holiday house as solid as my main house, because I wouldn't want to get surprised when I go there for holidays and find a destroyed house ... 🙄

Oh, many do that here, but many also take short cuts. It also depends on the land that they build on, as if it's not stable, a mudslide can easily remove the house. Then of course fire is also a culprit that can destroy many houses. It think that eventually someone will design an almost indestructible house.
Maybe a house with thick fire proof plastic walls that can be folded up and down. In case of a flood the house can simply flow away to be fetched after the flood is over 😉

Cheers and thanks.

A fire proof plastic house that swims sounds great, but how about a house that can fly? You can place it anywhere you want and if it rains you just move somewhere else 😉

Now that's a cool thought. We can put a lawn mower motor in the roof and make two walls to fold out like wings. The house can rise up helicopter style and fly to a new place.
Great idea of yours methinks 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

A lawn mower motor is much too loud, you will not be allowed to fly on weekends and during lunch time or at night. We need a noise less motor, I believe 🤣 !LOLZ

Ah! The noise and of course I didn't think about that. But not a problem as we can ask that other South African, Elon Musk to design a noiseless motor for us.
I mean not being able to fly at lunch time will be catastrophic as then all of the Austrians are awake.
The rest of the time they sleep, but they love food as after lunch it helps them to sleep better with full stomachs. Noise will certainly disturb them 🤣 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.
