A random collection of nature's wonders.

Join us on a late afternoon walk and let's see what we can find.
105.jpg

Just a quick selection of about 170 photos that I took on the day.

I don't know about you, but I am totally hooked on the views in nature, and I love to share them with everyone. It generates a sense of peace and wonder in the self, as even now I still cannot fully understand how much time and effort were spent on the creation of everything that I see. Delicate colors, and also the wonder of eating and other habits of the little animals. Here are some different views below and I hope that you will also find them intriguing.
Come and look.

Two more shots below of the fountain that was bathed in a spot of sunlight.

We sat at one of these benches having some coffee, when this little guy appeared. He seemed to pay us no mind and was digging behind the bench that you see in the picture. Can you see him?
034.JPG

Oh yes, it's a squirrel, digging for a nut that he hid some time ago, and I was glad to see the nut as he popped up onto the back of the bench.
060.JPG

Ah! Sure enjoyment after he skinned the nut.

Mister Malachite sunbird gave me the look, so as to say; Duck fella, I am sipping nectar here and don't want to be disturbed.

A new protea head starting to bloom below.

And that's what it looks like when it opens.

Finally, a fiscal also posed for me.

I like variety, as it's not the same old, same old, and nature holds so many beauties in its midst. So, whenever the sky is covered in cloud and makes long distance photos not easy because of the light, then I concentrate on the close views. When the weather is not good, we pop out to some wine estate farms, as there is always something for the camera's eye to see. Two of the big wine farms are fortunately close to us, Lourensford and Vergelegen, and that is where I get most of my sunbird photos. The wine farms are world famous and every year tourists flock in droves to the wine estates. Their wines are also awarded as the best in some overseas countries. We, however, abstain from alcohol, but there is always coffee available at the restaurants on the farms. So, when you visit South Africa, make sure that you don't miss a wine tour to one of these farms. I am sure that you will enjoy it.

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and story.

Both farms were once one, stunning in preserving nature in the region, concerted effort not to use chemicals. Only ever visited Vergelegen if I recall, Lourensford would have to go on my bucket list!

Wicked lightening and thunder last night no rain, this afternoon a repeat with the skies opening into a deluge, hopefully not serious after what Eastern Cape went through.

Oh yes, one farm from the mountains to the sea front. I have posted the history before, but in the meantime, we met the owner of a 6th generation farm that lies behind the mountain, and the man is an encyclopedia about the history of the farms. It all evolved due to a set of influential families.

Yeah, and I saw that more rain is on its way. Such a sad situation in the Eastern Cape, as only last year they were desperate for water, with empty dams.
Such is life.

Tornado hit Ballito/Tongaat North Coast, heavy electrical and rain hit us, no hail fortunately. Gift of the Givers very busy with Red Cross assisting, people pulling together again cannot see MK or ANC doing anything to help in KZN! Both parties out of T-shirts and KFC buckets !LOLZ

History of farming in the Cape goes deep down Dutch family lines, lucky were they whose forefathers recognized potential.

Wow, I saw videos online of that tornado this morning, and I wonder if the authorities will argue again that it was not a tornado. Gift of the Givers, is a great organization, and now that the voting is done, the politicians don't need the people anymore. So sad. But the writing is on the wall, as the people are tired of their empty promises.

The interesting thing that I learned from the history, is that it all always centered around a few important families. Today we have the same although the surnames have changed over time.
Such is life.

I would love to know how Zuma wangled his way in again, people have not learned anything! Change is needed with balanced minds, history will reveal how this all unravels, handful of rich dictate throughout countries, another wait, see what happens. Really reveals East/West influence runs deep.

A slippery fella that one, and now issuing threats all of the time. Business is punting an ANC-DA coalition as a way to secure the economy, but I don't know it will be a wise move. Much unhappiness about the IEC results and all things are on a knife edge at the moment.
Another wait, see will be the best.

!PIZZA and !LUV to you guys.

The day that racism is aborted and black and white take hands to build the country and its people, still seems to be far away. Instead, the political parties continue to attack each other. Madness!

Long overdue is referencing each by race, why not simply South African and get on with growing in a positive direction. I know this would never happen, there is reason for division!

So true, as division, and history is a powerful weapon for some forge hatred and popularity. Instead of learning the lessons in history and improving on it by combining all regardless of race and skin color. It could perhaps happen in another 100 years, and by then the country will be down in ashes.

Still hope lessons have been learned, always try look on the bright side, even though we have been whacked six love over the past.

Let's hold thumbs that something good will materialize now from the coalition talks. The nation is tired of being taken for a ride.

Days of rhetoric are over, need to roll up their sleeves and work for the country, did enjoy what ActionSA - Mashaba and Beaumont are doing in a positive light.

Let's see how this National Unity Government thing works out. I have become very careful of what politicians say and do. None of the new parliament members will earn below the 1 million mark per annum. Money is what it is all about, and I can only hope that the focus will be to improve the lives of all South Africans.

My skeptical mindset does not allow me to simply accept at face value and has not for many years. Seeing is believing at the end of the day, am very worried with MK here in KZN....

Funny what life can do, and one sees so many opinions, but the in the long run, the opinions are all trashed, as something totally unexpected takes place. So, a skeptical mindset is a good thing to have.
Yep, I am glad that we don't live there.

Interesting days ahead, and it go to either the left, or the right. A mix of both will not work, as too many differences. So yeah, let's wait to see.

!LUV also to you guys.

Tribal.... Country has always had West/East interference, remember the border war?

Follow the dots, it's all about money, prestige, power, minerals..., absolutely nothing to do with the people building a country for the people to be proud of!

Yep, and that's exactly what everyone is worried about, instead to focus must be on the upliftment of the people and creating jobs. A real danger is that the economy will tank, and then everyone loses.
Taking hands and building the country should be a priority.

Taken 30 years to come to realization they missed the mark by a mile or two, time to shed this inbred fear, simply find right people for position and move forward, plenty of talented people sitting idol.

Thing are very upside down at the moment, and there are so many "wise" predictions on social media. Scare tactics and smearing reputations are at the order of the day. Bad seeds are sown that doesn't auger well for the future.

Quite honestly I think they should do away with all "parties" simply select qualified people required, build together....

That would definitely be the answer, but it will remain to be only a dream, as power and money is all important.

Power side worries me more, appear to relish it once they get a seat!

Well, look at it this way, the GNU might be the answer, as there will be many eyes on the money. We simply have to eradicate corruption. But we can only wait and see how things work out.
