A 100 kilometer round trip today.

We were invited to attend a big gathering of non-profit organizations for a seminar at a nearby town.

I think that the rain created the waterfall in the mountain, and it was a magnificent sight.

Now when I say a nearby town, it was 50 kilometers away, which for us is a short distance. Papillon worked in partnership over the years with the two non-profits that hosted the seminar today, and I will tell you more about them in a charity post soon. In this post I just want to show you some of the sights along the roads on our drive.
So come along and see.

Early morning and the rain finally stopped as we traveled along.

Here below, you can see that the clouds were busy clearing from the mountains.
256.JPG

Many lovely mountain shots along the way.
129.JPG

132.JPG

We had to turn left at a T-junction in order to drive around the mountain ahead.
203.JPG

And we had to wait for a while to allow this small railway truck to pass :)
This is in fact a tourist favorite, as the tram travels along the winelands. It also stops at some wine farms for the passengers to do some wine tasting.
094.JPG

On and on we went as that mountain in the distance was near our destination.
421.JPG

323.JPG

Hey! Where did the road disappear to?
536.JPG

Some trees were growing out of the rock of this mountain peak. The birds must have planted them.
493.JPG

I liked this Autumn sight.
111.JPG

And also this lovely mountain valley.
273.JPG

It seemed like this school had a flooding problem.
284.JPG

Look at the weird bare patches on that mountain.
473.JPG

A closer look on the zoom told me that the wind and the rain were cutting the rock into rivulets. I wonder how many years it takes for this to happen?

The power of the weather and nature so often reminds me of how frail we are as mankind. Gradually, as in the last two photos, we are also slowly whittled away, until our end comes. But of course, it is what we do before our end comes that is so important. So many are concerned to leave a legacy, but most times that legacy is squandered by the ones that remain. I am the kind that will have no funeral service, or memorial service, as I have chosen to be cremated.

Some years ago, we had some great successes working with the two non profits that we met with today and it was really so good to get together again. Amazing how life works out, as at the time we didn't even consider the future, we were all hands-on to help with the sordid battles that the poor had to survive. Feeding played a big role, and we did that very well feeding thousands, but I have always regarded it as a temporary fix, because I wanted to look at training and education so that the needy people could be empowered to improve their lives and to feed their own.
It has now happened, and I will tell you more in my charity post.

I hope that you have enjoyed the pictures.

And That's All Friends.

I always found rain beautiful. See how they make each picture look beautiful. The power of nature does remind me how frail mankind is too.

Oh yes, water is life and the rain highlights the pictures in the sun.
Yep! Very frail indeed.

That's correct. Thanks for the beauty shared.

First photo actually has 3 waterfalls, some rainfall down your way!

Feeding programs and government grants are merely temporary patching, education to grow the minds of young generation offering firm foundation for them to grow much more beneficial.

Trust the meeting was fruitful!

!LUV Have a wonderful day!

Saw that but focused on the best one. We will soon go back there, as there is a big waterfall in one of the mountains, that I didn't know about.

That is exactly what it is, and that's way we start at the roots with the coding and the new literacy classes for children. To read with meaning is a must.

!LUV Another full wet day and hope that you guys also had some rain!

No rain here, has been inland and further down the coast.

Mountains filled with little waterfalls always spectacular to see!

So many are concerned to leave a legacy, but most times that legacy is squandered by the ones that remains

This is so sad, you work your ass out everyday only to die and people squander your money in a twinkle of an eye.

Nice shots by the way

I have personally seen this happen a few times already. 6 months to one year and then the money is finished. A whole lifetime of work wasted.

Thank you!

Wow! This waterfall in the mountain is really very impressive. I was very surprised by the tram :) it is so interesting. I have never seen two-story, besides, he is so cute. You've got a great walk.

Thank you and we will go back there so that I can get close ups of that waterfall.
We used to travel on trams like this one in my early young days. Certainly brought back some good memories.

Cheers and !PIZZA

Yes nature and the weather are so unimaginably powerful we shouldn't forget it!
I loved the waterfall which just shows the power of nature!

The wine tram looked for wine drinking tourists!

Beautiful colours and great pictures Zac, have a cracking Sunday :)

Thank you and you are right Ed, as the power of nature is very scary. We have had some major floods in some parts of the country and some people were killed in the floods.

Not only for drinking tourists, but also for sight seers and food connoisseurs, as many of the farms have top restaurants.

Glad that you liked it and hope that your Sunday was also great !LOLZ

Great views, my friend, I love the mountain valley shot and foremost the waterfall that is perfectly framed by the trees in the foreground 👉👍😀

Thank you Hannes and when we returned here, I Googled the waterfalls in that area. They have many waterfalls over there and we will make a plan to go back there soon. There is one particular big one there that I am anxious to see 🤞

Cheers and thanks.

I can't remember to have seen any waterfall photos by you before, so I am really looking forward to some, especially this big one 😀

I posted a waterfall long ago when we visited another province, but I think that was before I met you.
We hope to return there soon, but work is a bit tight here, especially with the power cuts.
So let's wait and see 😉

Cheers and thanks.

Must have been before we met because I think I would remember the photo 😉 !LOLZ

Your work is more important but it would be great if you could take a break and get there 😀

Oh yeah, I think that you are right, as even Janton wasn't around yet. Have you heard anything from him again?

Now I am not some clever mountain goat that can go around for two days playing with guns and knifes, as I am only a little innocent charity guy that cannot even sleep on the job 😁 !LOLZ
So time is a bit limited at present, but the good month starts tomorrow, so easter will have some empty days 😉

Cheers and thanks.

No, I have tried to contact him for a few times, but haven't heard anything from Janton.

In the breaks I didn't go for a coffee like my colleagues did, but I sat at a computer and worked so that I didn't have too much to do when I return to my desk 😅 !LOLZ
I hope for you that you'll have some more free time to get out and enjoy nature and maybe visit a huge waterfall 😀

So sad that he remains gone, as he still is on my incoming auto-vote 😮

What? You guys get breaks during your games with the guns and knifes? A great world that you live in mate and at least you were clever enough to try and diminish your work on a PC 😉 !LOLZ

Thank you Hannes and w are now back to 3 power cuts per day. The talk here is that we might go to higher levels of 6 or 8 power cuts again. I still get out every day during the current power cuts, but we cannot drive far. Hopefully during Easter it will happen. But then the places are full of people 😢

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, I also get votes from him - so he's still earning Hive and maybe one day he'll come back 😀 !LOLZ

Why do they turn the power on anyway? That's weird, really weird, but you can't do anything against it but hope, I believe.

From around Easter on the places will get crowded with people too - from then on I visit the lesser known places or I go there very early in the mornings.

We can only hope that he will return 🙏

They turn it on to give the businesses some breathing space while they are choking. Nothing that we can do about it, but to endure 😜 !LOLZ

I know that and you know that we try to do the same, so we will travel there either before the Easter break starts, or after it is over 👍

Cheers and thanks.

Yep, one day he'll be back, I'm sure.

As often said before: I hope that your government will find a solution.

You know that I don't want to get wet in the rain, but somehow I hope for rain during the Easter weekend - at least at the places I want to go 😂 !LOLZ

I also have the same feeling, so we can only wait.

Solutions are plenty, but it's action that's lacking.

I think I know why you want the rain. Do waterfalls have anything to do with it? 😜 !LOLZ

Cheers and thanks.

I forgot something ...

Of course we get breaks - most of us are old and can't fight the whole day long. If there were real criminals we even would ask them for a break 🤣🤣🤣

Cheers and !BEER

So, you give the two real criminals a break, so that you old fogies can sleep in peace. Sounds to me like some corruption taking place here 🤣😜

While the criminals take their break they will cetainly sleep too and while they are sleeping they can't do anything bad - if it's corruption that it's a good kind of corruption ... we should give all criminals a break 😂 !LOLZ

Nah! No good as when the criminals sleep they will dream up new schemes to steal 🤣 !LOLZ

Criminals are very clever as you know Hannes. A guy was standing next to a busy road with tubs of Yogurt in a bag that he was selling to passersby. The police received a tip off and they stopped to search the guy.
They found little plastic bags filled with drugs hidden inside the yogurt 😮

Cheers and thanks.

Criminals will always find a way to do their "work", may it be in their dreams or awake, but the yogurt thing was really clever ... for a while 😂 !LOLZ

You are 100 percent correct and they dream up new schemes every day. But then time runs out for them and I think it's called karma 😁 !LOLZ
