Effect of improper hygiene 🪥...18th November 2024
Poor hygiene can have major health repercussions, including a wide range of physical, emotional, and social problems. Neglecting basic hygiene activities such as hand washing, bathing, brushing teeth, and maintaining a clean environment increases the risk of infection and disease.
Bacteria, viruses, and other harmful germs thrive in filthy environments and can easily enter the body through contact, causing illnesses such as food poisoning, skin infections, lung infections, and gastrointestinal issues. Inadequate dental hygiene, for example, can cause tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath, all of which can affect one's self-esteem and social interactions. Skin diseases induced by improper hygiene include acne, rashes, and fungal infections.
The accumulation of grime and sweat on the skin can result in body odour, which can be harmful to social interactions and mental health. In a broader sense, poor hygiene can harm both the individual and the community. It can contribute in the spread of contagious diseases, especially in crowded or communal living environments.
