Choosing Harmony Over Being Right
Often times we shake our heads in disbelief of the level of understanding of the next person we then choose to let things slide not because we don't know how to react but because we don't want to make enemies. We choose harmony over being right. We know what's to come when we keep proving our point and we know we would not be happy in the end when we are done driving our points home. So we just let it go throwing our hands up in the air in surrender or perhaps roll our eyes as we let the issue roll away.
The world is a small place and what goes around comes around so we must never fail to treat people with love and understanding. How easy is this though? Especially in our world today where most people seem to have lost it.
Perspective is all there is. There are reasons why people do or say things and until we are able to be on that shoes, we must not judge, condemn or criticize. I don't know whether to say this is where we apply the law of silence because really what do you know? This is not to say never give your own point of view but to not stay strongly on that ground. Be able to view things from 360 point of view, standing aside to have a wholesome view at a subject matter.

I find that most people are not mean spirited.
Like you said, perspective is all there is!
I find that people have not been in many situations or circumstances... makes them ignorant! And they fail to have a better understanding.

Especially with the hyper polarization of politics. It's practically divided the Western world in two with no middle ground. It's so crazy that we can't even sit at the same table or simply agree to disagree.
IF this keeps up, civilization will crumble as we know it.

I understand what you are saying; I've learned to 'pick my battles' so to speak. Today's world creates so much stress and most people tend to let it build until they are at the blowing point. If you happen to say something that goes against their perspective at just the right time......well you can be on the receiving end of when they blow. Hello @ozohu. I understand perfectly what you are trying to say. Sometimes silence is needed to give both parties a break. People don't realize the harm words spoken in haste and anger can damage to a relationship or just any conversation.
Backing down doesn't mean you are weak. It means you are wise.

Good point, the world needs love and peace and harmony. Easier said and done knowing people choose to dig in on a negative note but I, we should promote positivity.
