Sleight Your Christmas Without Breaking A Bank

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome ๐Ÿค—

Christmas in Nigeria is a season of joy, celebration, and love. I, for one, love Christmas and eagerly look forward to it ๐Ÿ˜

Christmas in Nigeria is the most anticipated festival, with almost everyone looking forward to 25th December.

Christmas is mostly a time of reunion. This is the time most people travel from the city to the village; this is a time when people get to meet with family and friends they have not seen all year. This is also the time when varieties of delicious food are being prepared and shared amongst loved ones and neighbors. This is the time of bonding and showing genuine love.

However, amidst the excitement and merriment, to an extent, it is very easy to get carried away and forget that there's a life after Christmas; this has led a lot of people to overspend their money, therefore leaving some individuals financially strained while some even get broke to the extent that they have to look for who will lend them money back to the city.

There's a funny meme video on the Internet that shows how Paw Paw (a Nigerian actor) was enjoying himself for Christmas, and around the 9th of January, he was totally broke and didn't know what to do. As funny as the video is, that unfortunately is how many Nigerians live.

But I feel that, to an extent, this can be avoided if people become intentional and start practicing some financial management; everyone planning for Christmas should have a pre-Christmas preparation financial plan. Here are some practical tips that can be set

Set a budget More than anyone you know your account capacity; you know your limit, so whatever plans you are making for Christmas should be within your budget, and no matter how excited you get in your spending, you should not go beyond the set budget.

Avoid impulse buying This is more common with women. Most times it's hard to stick with our market budgets. No matter how beautiful that dress, shoes, or accessories may look, if it's not within your budget, then there is no need to go for it.

The economy at the moment isn't smiling at anyone; everyone is managing how to live their lives, so this is not the time to buy things out of your budget.

Keep track of your spending
There are a lot of apps online that can help you track your expenses. If you are like me and sometimes find it difficult to track your expenses, then you need this app; with this, you can avoid going overboard with your spending and stick within your budget.

Financial management is not rocket science; it is something you must be intentional, deliberate, and mindful of. If you practice these three tips, you would not be amongst those that think January has 99 days in it.

THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END ๐Ÿค—

The people that follow instructions from those expenses tracking apps, I must give kudos to them. I don't spend recklessly but I just know it's going to be hard for me to flow with those cautions from site/app. Lol

Since you can track your finances manually, that's fine ๐Ÿ‘
