Carmelo arrived at his office, greeted his coworkers and sat down at his desk. Carmelo had just arrived from his vacation and had already been informed, by phone, that a new supervisor had been appointed in his area, who, in turn, was part of the team of the new president of the public institution where he worked.
Carmelo, as always, was happy and cheerful, very helpful to his co-workers and to people who asked for his help.
Now that he had returned from his vacation, Carmelo noticed that the atmosphere in the office had changed and saw that many of his colleagues were in a bad mood. When he asked the reason for his colleagues' discomfort, Susana, Carmelo's neighbor at the desk, informed him that now, on Wednesdays, they had to give shawls and presentations to the workers, which were mandatory.
When it was announced to the workers in Carmelo's area that they should go to the hall for the presentation, they all moved to the place. After a few minutes of waiting, the institution's Training Manager arrived and told them that the General Manager was going to give the day's presentation.
When the presentation began, Carmelo thought it would be a labor talk, however, the General Manager began to talk about politics, the country's economic crisis and international sanctions. The truth was that the General Manager was a lousy speaker, and the presentation and the arguments were terrible and boring.
When the presentation was over, the General Manager asked the attendees what they thought of the presentation, and nobody answered, then he asked again and this time Carmelo stood up and told him that the presentation was very boring, that it was poorly prepared and that the topic was not labor, but political and that most people were not interested in those topics.
The General Manager got upset, and said "The presentations and political training for the workers will continue, since it is an order of the government party, if any person does not agree they can resign and go home unemployed" and then said the topic that would be discussed next week in the new training and gave the workers in attendance some handouts that they should study, so that they will participate in the next study meeting.
Upon arriving at the office, Carmelo was in a bad mood, as were his coworkers, and even came out with a rude remark to one of his coworkers, to whom he later apologized. At that point, the new supervisor arrived to complain to Carmelo about his comment. Once he finished his complaint, he asked Carmelo if he was going to change his attitude.
Carmelo looked at him and replied, whatever you do, whether you threaten us or not, there is a single and irrevocable reality, your presentation is boring, your political issues are not well received, and as for your job, if you wish, you can keep it.
The supervisor looked at Carmelo and said, I am going to fire you, upon seeing this, all the co-workers in the area stood up and said to the supervisor, you will have to fire all of us. That made the supervisor change his attitude towards his employees. After learning this, the rest of the workers did the same as the accounting area where Carmelo worked, thus ending the boring presentations of political training in the institution.
From that day on, the workers were once again happy and cheerful, in a dignified work environment without mistreatment.

Carmelo llegó a su oficina, saludo a sus compañeros de trabajo y se sentó en su escritorio. Carmelo venia llegando de sus vacaciones y ya le habían informado pro teléfono, que habían puesto a un supervisor nuevo en su área, quien a su vez, venía como parte del equipo del nuevo presidente de la institución pública donde él trabajaba.
Carmelo como siempre, estaba contento y alegre, muy solicito con sus compañeros de trabajo y con las personas que solicitaran su ayuda.
Ahora que había llegado se sus vacaciones, Carmelo, observó que el ambiente de la oficina había cambiado y vio, que muchos de sus compañeros estaban de mal humor. Al preguntar la razón de la molestia de sus compañeros, Susana, la vecina del escritorio de Carmelo, le informó, que ahora los días miércoles, les deban chalas y presentaciones a los trabajadores que eran de obligatoria asistencia.
Cuando se le anunció a los trabajadores del área de Carmelo que debían ir al salón para la presentación, todos se trasladaron al lugar. Después de unos minutos de espera, llegó el Gerente de Formación de la institución, y les comentó que el Gerente General iba a dar la presentación del día.
Cuando se inicia la presentación, Carmelo pensó que sería una charla a nivel laboral, sin embargo, el Gerente General, empezó a hablar de política, de la crisis económica del país y de las sanciones internacionales. Lo cierto fue, que el Gerente General, era un pésimo expositor, además la presentación y los argumentos de la misma, eran terribles y aburridos.
Cuando terminó la presentación, el Gerente General le preguntó a los asistentes que les había parecido la presentación, y nadie contestó, luego volvió a preguntar y esta vez se levantó Carmelo y le dijo que la presentación era muy aburrida, que estaba mal preparada y que además el tema no era laboral sino político y que esos temas a la mayoría de la gente no les interesaba.
El Gerente General se molestó, y dijo “Las presentaciones y la formación política para los trabajadores continuará, ya que es orden del partido de gobierno, si alguna persona no está de acuerdo puede renunciar e irse desempleado a su casa” y después dijo el tema que se discutiría la semana que viene en la nueva formación y le entregó a los trabajadores asistentes unos folletos que debían estudiar, par que participaran en la próxima reunión de estudio.
Al llegar a la oficina, Carmelo estaba de mal humor al igual que sus compañeros, y hasta le salió con una grosería a uno de sus compañeros de trabajo, con quien se disculpó después. En ese momento, el supervisor nuevo llegó a reclamar a Carmelo su comentario. Una vez que terminó su reclamo le preguntó a Carmelo si iba a cambiar su actitud.
Carmelo, lo miró y contestó, hagan lo que hagan, nos amenacen o no, hay una realidad única e irrevocable, su presentación es aburrida, sus temas políticos no son bien recibidos, y en cuanto a su trabajo, si lo desea puede quedarse con él.
El supervisor miró a Carmelo y le dijo, voy a despedirte, al ver esto, todos los compañeros del área se levantaron y le dijeron al supervisor, tendrá que despedirnos a todos. Eso hizo que el supervisor cambiara su actitud para con sus empleados. Después de saber esto, el resto de los trabajadores hicieron los mismo que el área de contabilidad donde trabajaba Carmelo, logrando que así se terminarán las presentaciones aburridas de formación política en la institución.
A partir de ese día, los trabajadores volvieron a estar alegres y contentos, en un ambiente laboral digno y sin maltratos.
