Very good weekend to all the hiver of this community, I have been a little far away because my country has suffered a very difficult weekend with the fall of the national electrical system and adverse weather conditions.


Happily, today I wish to deal with the subject of how we resolve labor conflicts.

First of all I must tell you that I live in Cuba, where we have organized a whole system that in many occasions does not work as it is projected and there begins the passion, as we would say jokingly to the ball back and forth to see how to channel things.

In ptimer term when there is a conflict that you can not solve with your boss and his superiors you must go to the union, who tries to mediate, if you do not reach an understanding you go to the ORGANO DE JUSTICIA LABORAL, (OJLB) these are made up of a member of the administration, one of if dicato and a worker who is elected by the workers.


This body has the power to rule and resolve the situation and it is mandatory to abide by its decision. If the parties do not agree, they appeal within 7 days, and the case is taken to the Municipal Labor Court,

In the individual sense I have not had any conflicts, but as a collective I have had conflicts due to administrative decisions, which are not processed through the OJLB but through the union.

The unions have different levels and the situation is raised and discussed by the representatives until it reaches the highest level, if a solution is not found along the way.


Well, this takes a long time and although they keep telling you that it is still being managed and well, we are still waiting or you just leave the job or you accept what has been arranged.


This is the case of the salary increase, or the increase of the per diem money, in my work we have been asking for this for years, the increase of the per diem was achieved but today they are not in accordance with the increase of prices, regarding the payments we have also achieved something for a part of the direct workers to the research, but although we have requested and supported the payment for the indirect workers, it has not been achieved.


In Cuba we cannot make demonstrations, we raise the problems in meetings and wait.That is why many get tired of waiting and emigrate from the work sector and, well, even from the country.
