Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I bring you a new drawing for my participation in the Splinterlands art contest. This time I chose the card of Xia Seachan, since it is a character that I like in terms of its composition. So without further ado, I share with you the process of this drawing:

Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Les traigo un nuevo dibujo para mi participacion en el concurso de arte de Splinterlands. Esta vez escogí la carta de Xia Seachan, ya que es un personaje que me gusta en cuanto a su composición. Así que sin mas preámbulos, les comparto el proceso de este dibujo:

I started sketching the character, taking as a reference the original illustration and a reference I found on Pinterest of a girl. I always like to go on Pinterest to find various references that I can use for a drawing, since I always take the pose that has the reference and then I structure my drawing in general.

Comencé haciendo el boceto del personaje, tomando como referencia la ilustración original y una referencia que encontré en Pinterest de una chica. Siempre me gusta entrar en Pinterest para encontrar referencias variadas y que me puedan llegar a servir para algún dibujo, ya que siempre tomo la pose que tenga la referencia y luego estructuro mi dibujo en general.

Once I had all the sketch ready, what I do is to clean it and leave it detailed, and then I go to paint it. This time I didn't want to get rid of the line art, I wanted to leave it well marked so that it would be detailed to the eye and also to give it some contrast. For the color palette I used, it is no more than the original. I took the colors that we can see in the original illustration and with them I used the color palette that I worked with in my drawing and that by the way, I used watercolors to paint the whole illustration.

Una vez tuve todo el boceto listo, lo que hago es limpiarlo y dejarlo detallado, para luego irme a pintarlo. Esta vez no quise deshacerme del line art, lo quise dejar bien marcado para que se detallara a la vista y también para que darle de cierto modo un poco de contraste. Para la paleta de color que use, no es mas que la original. Tome los colores que podemos ver en la ilustración original y con ellos arme mi la paleta de color que trabaje en mi dibujo y que por cierto, use acuarelas para pintar toda la ilustración.

I start by adding the base color of the skin, then I go for the elements such as the necklace and the crown, then the clothes and finally the hair. After I have integrated all the base color, I go to work on the details, which is basically to add the shadows and begin to give contrast to the drawing.

Comienzo agregando el color base de la piel, luego voy por los elementos que si el collar y la corona, luego la ropa y al final el cabello. Luego de haber integrado todo el color base, me voy a trabajar los detalles, que básicamente es agregar las sombras y comenzar a darle contraste al dibujo.

Finally what I do is to detail certain areas with my mechanical pencil and make some final shines in the composition, I practically make the shines with my mechanical pencil and in graphite hahaha but it looks good the truth or at least I like them. And that's it friends, that would be all.

Por ultimo lo que hago es detallar un poco ciertas zonas con mi portaminas y hacer algunos brillos finales en la composición, que prácticamente hago los brillos con mi portaminas y en grafito jajaja pero se ve bien la verdad o al menos a mi me gustan. Y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
