The Burning Lands city of Azad is home to uncountable thousands of the toughest people in the world from dozens of different races. There are warriors, thieves, refugees and survivors from all over the Planet. Even in spite of the terrible overpopulation problems and resource crises of the Burning Lands, the city accepts almost everyone whose ship makes it to the port of Noxia. Brutality of Azad life usually takes care of the population problem within the city walls anyways. Whoever is not fit to survive in Azad simply dies and is forgotten. The largest and most intact race of people who have made a home in Azad are the Khmer. Link

Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I was looking at cards from the @Splinterlands game and I found this character of SARIUSthat looking at it in detail I liked it a lot since it didn't have many elements in the illustration and as I was super bored I took it as a reference to make it in my style and share it in this week's #socialmediachallenge.
Hola gente bonita!
I started making the sketch easily helping me from a reference I saw on Pinterest, making the character in three quarters so as not to do it from the front, making it also on the right side, because usually I always do them on the left side and so I practiced that part. As in the original character there were not so many elements integrated in it that stood out to the eye, what I did was to integrate the clothing and a sword, to see the similarity of the original illustration in my drawing.
I tried to make my drawing as similar as possible to the original character, even Sarius's hair is in a kind of ponytail and I did the best I could. After I had been doing the sketch, I let it rest for a while so I could come back some time later and detail if something was wrong with it and correct it. I recommend the latter because you can get a good handle on the composition from the initial sketch without any mistakes, but I also recommend pausing and taking short breaks throughout the drawing process in general.
Continuing with the drawing process, I went to work on the color. What I did was to take as a reference, as I always do, the color palette of Sarious, that if we look closely at the illustration we can find colors like gold, dark gray almost black, skin color as light ocher and so on. The truth is that the color palette was a little warm, so with those colors that I saw in the character I worked my drawing, always working the same in my style.
After having colored the whole drawing for a while, I let it rest for a while so I could come back after a while and see if it would need more color work or not. I made some final details with wood colors in certain areas of the face and white shines in the eyes, mouth and others. The truth is a simple drawing, but very well worked, which I loved because it is something that I have been improving over time. Remember to go to the link of the letter and see more in detail the history of it.

Saludos.
Muchas gracias @mazquel! Agradecido con el apoyo ✨🌿🖤 Saludos
I admire your watercolour technique! And love the eyes and eyelashes on your pictures. Absolutely amazing!
Actually I have technical question for you - what do you use at the very end, to finish your picture - is it just white ink/paint or you are using gel/ball white pen?
I am having trouble to find really nice, white pen for finishing my drawings. At the minute I am using 'gelly roll 'Sakkura', but ball get stuck and jam often, and it doesn't work very well over watercolours, especially pencil ones. I figured, that maybe watercolour pencils are a bit oily? Make sense? Now I am trying to use office correction fluid(Tipp-Ex), but it would dry too fast;/
Would you recommend some alternative, that is possible to use over paint?
Thank you so much @strega.azure, I really appreciate you taking the time to admire and comment on my post ✨🌿🖤
Answering your question, I don't really use any of that to give final details in white, no watercolors or white gel pens, I personally use white interior paint, that is; the paint you use to paint the walls, obviously I use it in white hehehe. I tell you this because I have been using it for exactly two years in my drawings and it really looks great. One day I didn't have any white paint and I had recently painted my room, which I paint white at a certain time and I took some of the paint I had left over and surprise, the final details were incredible. So well, with the number 0 brush and some paint diluted with a little water is that I make all the details in white, you are the first person to whom I tell my "secret" hehehe.
I hope I have helped you, I send you a big greeting ✨🌿🖤
That's absolutely brilliant! And make a lot of sense, since wall is porous and very dry - that should work over painted paper too. I'll give it a go! I'll let you know! But I am soooooo thankful you replied! I wish you lovely weekend!
No need to thank me! Your paintings are top notch!
