Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! Again I come to participate in the art contest that is done weekly by @Splinterlands and for this, I chose the card of Medusa. Some time ago, I had made an attempt to make this character and to tell the truth, it didn't look too bad, but I wanted to do it again, but this time in digital and to participate in the contest.

Nuevamente vengo a participar en el concurso de arte que sea hace semanalmente por parte de @Splinterlands y para ello, escogí la carta de Medusa. Hace un tiempo atrás, había hecho un intento de hacer este personaje y a decir verdad no me quedo tan mal, pero quise volver a hacerlo, pero este vez en digital y para participar en el concurso.

The first thing I did was the sketch, starting with the face, since I wanted to make this drawing only of the face, my style is characterized by working only portraits, so this was not going to be an exception. When I had a first dirty sketch, what I did was to add a new layer and clean everything, working with a nib brush, I did all the line art work on it and left it ready to work the color. One thing I will tell you, is that I will take up line art again in each and every one of my drawings.

Lo primero que hice fue el boceto, comenzando de primera mano con el rostro, ya que este dibujo lo quise hacer solo del rostro, mi estilo se caracteriza mucho por trabajar solamente retratos, así que este no iba a hacer una excepción. Cuando tuve un primer boceto sucio, lo que hice fue agregar una nueva capa y limpiar todo, trabajando con un pincel de plumilla, hice todo el trabajo de line art en el mismo y lo deje listo para trabajar el color. Algo que les diré, es que retomare nuevamente el line art en todos y cada uno de mis dibujos.

I was adding the color, starting with a base color first. I chose an orange as a base color and from there, I was working on all the colors that I would integrate in this illustration. At the same time that I was adding color, I was also adjusting it, because something that I also want to retake, are my color palettes, which have always been gray and not so flashy or saturated.

Fui agregando el color, comenzando con una base primeramente. Escogí un naranja como color base y de ahí, fui trabajando todos los colores que integraría en este ilustración. A la vez que iba agregando el color, lo iba ajustando también, porque algo que también quiero retomar, son mis paletas de color, que siempre han sido tirando al gris y no tan llamativas o saturadas.

With this drawing I not only wanted to participate in the @splinterlands contest, but I also wanted to take the boldness to "rescue" in a way, my drawing style. I was feeling very frustrated with every drawing I was doing and not because they were bad, but because I was seeing and feeling that it was getting too far away from what I wanted to do. It could be due to many factors, but I don't want to talk about it, I just want to continue to feel comfortable with my art and enjoy it to the fullest.

Con este dibujo no solo quise participar en el concurso de @splinterlands, sino también quise tomarme el atrevimiento de "rescatar" de cierto modo, mi estilo de dibujo. Me estaba sintiendo muy frustrado con cada dibujo que hacia y no porque estuvieran mal, sino porque estaba viendo y sintiendo que se estaba alejando demasiado de lo que yo quería hacer. Puede deberse a muchos factores, pero no quiero hablar de ello, solo quiero seguir sintiéndome a gusto con mi arte y disfrutarlo al máximo.

Going back to the drawing process, I was adding details after all the color, very subtle shadows, redness in the face and so on. I also gave myself the task of working on a new line art, since the first one I had done, looked very simple, so I improved it a little and at the same time I was adjusting the colors again. Finally, I worked on the background, so it didn't look so empty and I added the last final details, like the glows in certain areas of the drawing and that's it, that would be all.

Retomando de nuevo el proceso del dibujo, fui agregando detalles después de todo el color, sombras muy sutiles, rojeces en la cara y demás. También me di la tarea de trabajar un nuevo line art, ya que el primero que le había hecho, lo veía muy simple, así que lo mejore un poco y a su vez estuve ajustando los colores nuevamente. Por ultimo, trabaje en el fondo, para que no se viera tan vació y agregue los últimos detalles finales, como los brillos en ciertas zonas del dibujo y listo, eso seria todo.
