Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! I decided to take the character of River Nymph as inspiration for my new entry in the Splinterlands art contest. I wanted to continue with the traditional one, since I had been too long without drawing and painting in traditional, it's good to go a little bit digital and go back to my beginnings. I hope you like it friends!
Hola gente bonita! ¡Espero estén súper bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Decidí tomar al personaje de River Nymph como inspiración para mi nueva participacion en el concurso de arte de Splinterlands. Quise seguir con el tradicional, ya que llevaba demasiado tiempo sin dibujar y pintar en tradicional, que es bueno bajarle un poco al digital y volver a mis inicios. Espero les guste amigos!
I started making the sketch, taking into account my only two references, which were the original illustration and a picture I found on Pinterest of a girl whose face I like and was very drawable. I think one of my greatest virtues or drawing skills has always been drawing faces, so this drawing was another one of those many faces I have come to draw.
Comencé haciendo el boceto, tomando en cuanta mis dos únicas referencias, que fueron la ilustración original y una foto que encontré en Pinterest de una chica que me gusta su rostro y estaba muy dibujable. Creo que una de mis mayores virtudes o destrezas en el dibujo siempre han sido dibujar rostros, así que este dibujo fue otro de esos tantos rostros que he llegado a dibujar.

Once I had all the character's face well structured and the sketch clean, what I proceed to do is to start with the color work. I always take the color palette of the original character to use it in my drawing, but this time I change it a little and adapt it better to my tastes, since the original character has blue skin, which I didn't like to do in my drawing, so that's what changes from the original character to my version.
Una vez que tuve todo el rostro del personaje bien estructurado y el boceto limpio, lo que prosigo a hacer es comenzar con el trabajo de color. Siempre tomo la paleta de color del personaje original para usarla en mi dibujo, pero esta vez la cambio un poco y la adapte mejor a mis gustos, puesto que el personaje original tiene la piel de color azul, lo cual a mi no me agradaba tanto hacer en mi dibujo, por lo tanto fue lo que cambia del personaje original a mi versión.

I began by applying subtle layers of color and let it dry, then reapplying color and letting it dry again, you know how it is to work with watercolors. Little by little the drawing came to life and after adding a lot of color, I began to add the shadows, this to give a little contrast to the character.
Comencé aplicando capas sutiles de color y dejaba secar, para volver a aplicar color y volver dejar secar, ya saben como es trabajar con acuarelas. Poco a poco el dibujo cobraba vida y después de agregar bastante color, comencé a agregar las sombras, esto para darle un poco de contraste al personaje.

After the drawing was dry, I started to add the details, like line art in certain areas to enhance the drawing and in a way give it a little more contrast. I also added the blood on the face, which I am loving to add again to my drawings. Lastly I added the glows in the character and in the background and that's it folks, that would be all.
Luego que el dibujo estuvo bien seco, comencé a agregar los detalles, como line art en ciertas zonas para realzar mas el dibujo y de cierto modo darle un poco mas de contraste. También le agregue la sangre en el rostro, cosa que estoy amando nuevamente agregar a mis dibujos. Por ultimo agrego los brillos en el personaje y en el fondo y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
