The temperature of Azmaré's Frozen Hell has been gradually but steadily increasing for the last ten years, since the salt sickness has taken hold there. The Ice Shelf itself is not in any imminent danger of melting, nor is the Palace of the Frost Giant, but new, mischievous creatures of the ice have been emerging from the melted cracks. These Ice Pixies have apparently been frozen for many lifetimes, simply awaiting a warmer season to make their escape. Hello beautiful people! I hope you're all doing great and if you're not, you will be soon! For this week's art contest, I wanted to make ✨❄️ Ice Pixie ✨❄️, since I had done it in traditional line art style and I wanted to move it to color and digital. I really didn't think I was going to like it so much and I didn't have so much faith in this illustration, but in the end the result is a drawing that is in my top 5 of the best I've done this year!
Hola gente bonita! Espero estén super bien todos y si no lo están, pronto lo estarán! Para el concurso de arte de esta semana, quise hacer a ✨❄️ Ice Pixie ✨❄️, ya que la había hecho en tradicional al estilo line art y quise pasarla a color y en digital. La verdad no pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto y no le tenia tanta fe a esta ilustración, pero al final resultado un dibujo que esta en mi top 5 de lo mejor que he hecho este año!
As I had already told you, I had done it from the beginning in traditional, so what I did was to transfer the sketch to digital, improving some things, in order to have a good composition in terms of the character itself. As I always say, I do two line art, one in gray and one in black, to give a good contrast to the line art, as it is something characteristic of my style and I do not like to lose it, rather it is something that I like to highlight always, so I try to do a good job.
Como ya les había dicho, la había hecho de principio en tradicional, así que lo que hice fue pasar el boceto al digital, mejorando algunas cosas, para así quedarme con una buena composición en cuanto al personaje en sí. Como siempre les digo, hago dos line art, uno en gris y otro en negro, para darle un buen contraste al line art, ya que es algo característico de mi estilo y no me gusta que se pierda el mismo, mas bien es algo que me gusta que resalte siempre, así que procuro hacer un buen trabajo.

Once I had all the line art work ready, what I start working on next is the color. To do the color work in the illustration, what I do is to look at the colors of the original illustration and with the help of the chromatic circle, I put together a color palette that is harmonious. In the original illustration, most of the colors are in shades of blue and white, so for the color palette of my drawing, what I did was to integrate three colors; blue, yellow and red, that if we look at the chromatic circle, these colors form a triadic color palette, combining perfectly.
Ya que tuve todo el trabajo del line art listo, lo que comienzo a trabajar después es el color. Para hacer el trabajo de color en la ilustración, lo que hago es fijarme en los colores de la ilustración original y con ayuda del circulo cromático, voy armando una paleta de color que sea armoniosa. En la ilustración original, la gran mayoría de los colores son en tonos azules y blanco, así que para la paleta de color de mi dibujo, lo que hice fue integrar tres colores; azul, amarillo y rojo, que si nos fijamos en el circulo cromático, estos colores forman una paleta de color triádico, combinando perfectamente.

Once I have my color palette, I start adding all the colors, starting with a base color and then adding all the others for each area of the drawing. After that, I start detailing everything and as usual, I always start with the face. To detail everything, I use watercolor brushes and paint mixers as main brushes, then I add color undertones and mix everything and so on to paint and detail the whole drawing.
Una vez tengo mi paleta de color, comienzo a agregar todos los colores, comenzando con un color base y luego voy agregando todos los demás para cada zona del dibujo. Luego de ello, comienzo a detallar todo y como es de costumbre, comienzo siempre por la cara. Para detallar todo, uso como pinceles principales los de acuarela y mezcladores de pintura, entonces voy agregando subtonos de color y voy mezclando todo y así para pintar y detallar todo el dibujo.

As time goes by, I have learned new things that have helped me to speed up the time I invest in making a digital illustration and also to improve the illustrations themselves, having very good results with each one of them and this is one of them. I finish the illustration, adjusting some colors, adding more shadows and making the final details, which basically are the shines that I add throughout the illustration and that make the drawing look even more beautiful and ready friends, that would be all.
Al pasar del tiempo, he aprendiendo nuevas cosa que me han servido para agilizar el tiempo que invierto en hacer una ilustración en digital y también para mejorar las ilustraciones en sí, teniendo resultados muy buenos con cada una de ellas y esta es una. Termino la ilustración, ajustando algunos colores, agregando mas sombras y haciendo los detalles finales, que básicamente son los brillos que agrego en toda la ilustración y que hacen que el dibujo se vea aun mas hermoso y listo amigos, eso seria todo.
