THE QUESTION OF HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hello beautiful people. There are diverse views on the ideal way or ways to think about, consider and react to birthdays. Several opinions resonate with the cultural and religious background of the celebrant or those participating in the celebration.

On one side of the discussion, many say that birthdays come once in 365 days and so they should simply be used for the purpose of enjoyment, the other group disagrees that birthdays are a guise which many use to glorify themselves, engage in prideful activities instead of glorifying God who granted them another span of life.

A more streamlined view is that birthdays should not be celebrated, because everyday is a new birthday. To buttress the discussion, birthdays are or should be days of reflection and introspection of how much aligned the celebrant is with the purpose of God for their lives and how they can go about fulfilling it.

They take time to strategize on how to accomplish what is left undone and come up with progress plans.
Another set of people have a different opinion, they have several motivations for the birthday celebrations and how the arrangements are a thing of joy for them all. To others birthday celebrations remind them of how far they have come and what they have achieved so far with it. More than that, they are reminded that they are growing, and it is an alarm that reminds them to act and not just sit idle.

As the years pass by, people have different reasons to celebrate, and some consider the day a dreadful day because of past experiences or unfulfilled life. At the end of the day, it is just 24hrs, our reaction to the day itself is more important than what we do in the day, if we can consider it another opportunity to have hope and enjoy life, then we would see it in positive light.
For those with deeper introspection, a birthday is just another day to be grateful, the date itself does nothing special, that is why everyday must be made to count, some heap so much pressure on the day and will say if they died before the day, it was bad, that at least they should see their birthday as if dying after the birthday is better. Every day should be regarded as a birthday.

A religious prospect is that God rested after creation and that is significant, as each birthday should be a day of rest and rejuvenation. Throwing parties and having elaborate celebrations are just ways for humans to express gratitude and happiness on that day.
It doesn’t matter which side of the pie a person falls under, what matter is the understanding of what the birthday represents to individuals.
