SPEED AND WAITING
Hello beautiful people. I got to school the other day and I had to go to the shuttle park to get on a bus that would take me to the school premises, you know how distant the school facilities can be from the school gate of the university. I wanted to save myself the stress of walking all the way, that meant I had to wait for the bus to get full before we could move.
While we were waiting a woman passed by, she is walking right into school, she was on the go while I was at the park waiting for the bus to get filled.
After some minutes of waiting the bus got full and we were on the go, interestingly we passed by the woman who had passed us earlier, our bus still got us to our destination earlier even though she began the 'journey' earlier than we did.
As I observed what had happened the lessons I picked were. If waiting will afford me speed in the end it's worth the wait.
Although we're not in a competition the fact that someone began a journey before me doesn't make me late.
You can gain 'speed' by 'waiting'.
sometimes waiting feels like a waste of time, when in actual sense it'll help you 'gain' time.
Speed and waiting in this context could mean different things at different points, make of this what you may, I just thought to share, I hope this blesses someone. "They that WAIT on the Lord shall renew their strength".
For practical purposes, waiting for me for example is:
- Before you jump to start a business, wait. Wait to do enough research or market surveys to see if the practicality of that model is profitable and scalable in the long run.
- Before you accept a marriage proposal that may end your life in 5 years. It’s better to wait for 5 years and marry who will not kill you for the next 80 years.
- Before you jump to start a ministry or organization that may fold up in 5 years, it's better to wait, grow, learn the dynamics of running an organization, and start off properly to last for 100 years.
- Before you rush to send me 2k now, maybe you should wait, make some more money and send me 2billion in 10 years.
