Hello Family and Guild Mate
Once again, it's another week of the Weekly Battle Mage Challenge. The ruleset for this week is Fog of War. In this ruleset, The fog of war is a ruleset where all units lose the sneak, snipe, and opportunity abilities. Therefore, all attacks in this ruleset target the first unit. If you want to deal damage to the enemy's backline, you can use a unit with scattershot ability. Because scattershot works in this ruleset. If this is the ruleset, it's also like using Lily Shieldpaw, where because of Lily's camouflage ability, all of the enemy's attacks are focused only on the 1st position. Just like in the fog of war, scattershot is not affected by camouflage, so you can still attack the backline.
My battle took place in a sps dao free tournament called the Silver League Ghost, where every player has a delegated full set of cards, including the upcoming Rebellion Airdrop. Only one DEC will be rewarded for first place, but what's great about this tournament is that you can use cards you can't afford to rent due to their high cost. It's also a great experience and you can gain valuable insights and techniques from each opponent since you're all on equal footing with the same number of cards to use. For newcomers, seize this opportunity especially since it's free.Come, let's check how I won our battle.
BATTLE CONDITION
36 Mana cap the elements that you can only use is fire. The ruleset are fog of war, and even stevens.
TEAM COMPOSITION
Because one of the rulesets is fog of war, where sneak and opportunity are ineffective, only the 1st position can attack. That's why I chose Yodin Zaku as my summoner, with +1 life and ranged damage. He also provides blast ability to all units. Yodin's blast will help deal damage to the opponent's 2nd position. For the 1st position, I chose Cerberus, a melee attacker with heal ability. I picked him because he has a speed of 4, aligning with my strategy of speed in the game. For the 2nd position, I selected Venator Kinjo, a melee attacker with reflection shield, immunity, and camouflage abilities. I only need Kinjo's reflection shield ability because I expect my opponent to use Yodin as well. Since the reflection shield is immune to blast damage, my 2nd position won't easily be defeated. For the 3rd position, I chose Prismatic Energy, a magic attacker with magic reflect ability and a speed of 4, anticipating my opponent's use of magic attackers. The magic reflect ability will bounce back the damage of magic attacks to the opponent. For the 4th position, I chose Centaur, a ranged attacker with snipe ability. Although Centaur's ability will be nullified due to fog of war, his speed of 4 still makes him valuable in my lineup. For the 5th position, I selected DryboneBowdog, a ranged attacker with scattershot and ambush abilities. With the ambush plus scattershot abilities, there's a chance he can attack the backline even with the fog of war ruleset. Finally, for the last position, I chose Supply Runner, a ranged attacker with swiftness ability. Apart from his speed of 4, his swiftness ability provides an additional +1 speed to all units while he's alive.
KEY NOTES
Because of Drybone Bowdog's ambush ability, he attacks first even before the battle begins. And because of scattershot, he isn't affected by the fog of war ruleset, allowing him to attack the opponent's backline.
Because of Kinjo's reflection shield, he can prevent the blast damage from spreading.
BATTLE SUMMARY
Because I am faster than my opponent, I immediately killed two units on my opponent's side. And because of DryBone Bowdog's scattershot, I dealt damage to the 5th position due to Yodin's blast damage. And because the opponent's damage was significant, he also killed two of my units in the front.
In round 2, since I attacked first in the battle and the opponent's units had very little health left, I quickly killed his three units, so at the end of round 2, only one unit remained on my opponent's side.
And because Prismatic Energy has the advantage in speed, she was the first to attack in the battle. Prismatic Energy ended the battle in round 3 because her damage was sufficient to kill the opponent's Scavo Firebold.
CONCLUSION
For me, when there's blast damage, whether it's from a ruleset or Yodin's ability, speed in attacking has an advantage because it spreads the blast damage to the opponent more quickly. This is one of the reasons why I won our battle against Aledavila.
Kinjo's reflection shield also helped prevent the blast effect from spreading immediately.
Until next social media challenge bye for now.
