JIU-JITSU GRADUATION TRIP

On September 1, 2023, our Jiu-Jitsu academy master invited me to attend a graduation held by a member of our academy who lives in another city, located 120 km from my city.

At the time, I didn't want to go, as my mother had only passed away a week ago due to stomach problems. However, the master asked and informed me that it would be good for me, as it would distract me a little, considering that I was sad about my mother's death.

That day, I took my car to go, and we agreed that our colleague who would be graduating would cover the costs of gasoline and travel expenses.

We left my city, me, the master and another member of the academy. As graduation was scheduled for 6:00 pm, we decided to leave at 12:00 pm, as we would be traveling along a dirt road.

The city we were going to is called Umburanas. There are two ways to get there: one via the dirt road, which is 120 km long, and the other via the track, which is 220 km away.

“We asked some colleagues and even the member who was going to graduate what the conditions of the dirt road would be, as it would be closer and less expensive going there. We were told the road was good and we could continue and we did.”

Up to a certain point, we were doing well, but when we passed about 3 towns, the car started to stop and we realized that we were driving on sand. The road had very loose fragments, a lot of dust and the car started to feel weak, so we decided to stop.

We opened the hood of the car to check what was happening and realized that the water in the reservoir was boiling and the engine was very hot. It was then that a car passed by and, luckily for us, a mechanic was in the car who soon came to help us. The mechanic checked and concluded that this was due to the fan that stopped working due to the sand that filled the front of the car and caused it to stop working. Well, that's what he said.

We waited about 40 minutes for the vehicle to cool down a little and headed to a village that was 3 km from the place where the car stopped. Once there, we looked for a mechanic and he immediately checked, removed the fan and found that, due to the vibration, a wire connecting the fan to the electrical part had come loose. He welded it and put it in place, we paid and continued on our way.

After completing the fan check and repair, we continued our journey and managed to reach our destination.

Graduation was scheduled for 6:00 pm and we only managed to arrive at 7:00 pm, as I was afraid the car would have another problem and so I continued slowly along the dirt road.

As soon as we arrived, we started graduation, as the plan was to graduate our colleague and return to our city.

We stayed there for around an hour, our master gave some information to his training colleagues and then we headed back to our city.

We left towards our city with the mission accomplished. The fellow graduate is ready for a new journey in his jiu-jitsu life.

The return to our city would now be 220 km, as we decided to return via the track, so that we wouldn't go through the same situation we faced when coming to graduation.

When we were already 40 km away from reaching our city, the car simply stopped on the way up the hill, in a city called Pindobaçu. We went out to check this at 11:00 pm, without knowing anyone in the city and nothing open so we could ask for help. That's when I called a colleague of mine in my city and asked him to come and provide support with his car.

When the colleague arrived, we checked and the car simply wouldn't start. We tried a few times without success. We decided to pull my car, mistressrrado on a rope, to a workshop in the city. We left the car there and we all came to my city in my colleague's car. This at 1:00 in the morning.

The other day, I asked my brother-in-law for help and he went there with me in his car in order to try to resolve the situation with my car and be able to leave. We left at 5:00 am heading to Pindobaçu, where my car was.

We waited until 8:00 and managed to speak to the mechanic who checked the car and found that the problem was with the engine shaft, reaching lui and not allowing the vehicle to rotate to start. I practically don't understand anything.

We decided to call a tow truck and take the car to our city, as there we would be more comfortable to leave it ready. After all this journey, we ended up getting home around noon. I left the vehicle at a mechanic who already does the service and it was fixed, but I had to spend a lot of money on the repair.

Final considerations:

I learned that we have to analyze the destinations first so that we can better understand the routes and road conditions. I also learned that we should check the vehicle's mechanics whenever we go on a trip, whether long or short.

But, in the end, in parts, the trip was fun, as we managed to achieve our biggest goal, which was graduation, and leave our colleague alone and graduate.

Gasoline and maintenance expenses were divided between me, the master and the graduate. Everyone helped and didn't think it was bad.

VIAGEM PARA GRADUAÇÃO JIU-JITSU

No dia 01.09.2023, nosso mestre da academia de Jiu-jitsu me convidou para ir a uma graduação de um membro de nossa academia que mora em outra cidade, localizada a 120 km da minha cidade.

Na ocasião, eu fiquei sem querer ir, pois só tinha uma semana que minha mãe tinha falecido por problemas no estômago. No entanto, o mestre pediu e informou que seria bom para mim, pois iria me distrair um pouco, tendo em vista que eu estava triste com o falecimento de minha mãe.

Nesse dia, peguei meu carro para ir, e combinamos que o nosso colega que seria graduado arcasse com os custos de gasolina e despesas da viagem.

Saímos da minha cidade, eu, o mestre e outro membro da academia. Como a graduação estava marcada para as 18:00, decidimos sair às 12:00, pois iríamos por um trajeto de estrada de chão batido.

A cidade para a qual estávamos indo se chama Umburanas. Existem dois caminhos para chegar lá: um pela estrada de chão batido, que tem 120 km, e outro pela pista, que fica a 220 km.

“Perguntamos a alguns colegas e até mesmo ao membro que iria ser graduado quais seriam as condições da estrada de chão batido, pois se tornaria mais perto e com menos gasto indo por lá. Fomos informados que a estrada estava boa e poderíamos seguir e assim fizemos.”

Até um certo ponto, estávamos indo bem, mas quando passamos por uns 3 povoados, o carro começou a querer parar e percebemos que estávamos andando na areia. A estrada estava com fragmentos muito soltos, muita poeira e o carro começou a ficar fraco, então decidimos parar.

Abrimos o capô do carro para verificar o que estava acontecendo e percebemos que a água do reservatório estava fervendo e o motor muito quente. Foi aí que passou um carro e, para nossa sorte, vinha no carro um mecânico que logo veio nos ajudar. O mecânico verificou e concluiu que isso ocorreu por conta do ventilador que parou de funcionar devido à areia que tomou a frente do carro e fez com que ele parasse de funcionar. Bom, foi o que ele falou.

Aguardamos uns 40 minutos para que o veículo esfriasse um pouco e seguimos para um povoado que ficava a 3 km do local onde o carro parou. Chegando lá, procuramos um mecânico e ele logo verificou, tirou o ventilador e constatou que, por conta da trepidação, um fio que liga o ventilador à parte elétrica tinha soltado. Ele fez a solda e colocou no lugar, pagamos e seguimos viagem.

Após concluirmos a verificação e o conserto do ventilador, seguimos viagem e conseguimos chegar ao nosso destino.

A graduação estava marcada para as 18:00 e só conseguimos chegar as 19:00, pois fiquei com receio de o carro apresentar outro problema e aí segui devagar pela estrada de chão.

Assim que chegamos já iniciamos a graduação, pois a programação era graduar nosso colega e retornar para nossa cidade.

Ficamos la por volta de uma hora, nosso mestre passou algumas informações para os colegas de treino de la e depois seguimos de volta para a nossa cidade.

Saímos em direção à nossa cidade com a missão cumprida. O colega graduado está pronto para uma nova jornada na sua vida de jiu-jitsu.

O retorno para a nossa cidade seria agora de 220 km, pois decidimos retornar pela pista, para que não voltássemos a passar pela mesma situação que enfrentamos na vinda para a graduação.

Quando já estávamos a 40 km para chegar à nossa cidade, o carro simplesmente parou na subida da ladeira, já em uma cidade chamada Pindobaçu. Saímos para verificar isso já às 23:00 da noite, sem conhecer ninguém na cidade e nada aberto para podermos pedir ajuda. Foi aí que liguei para um colega meu na minha cidade e pedi que ele viesse dar um apoio com o carro dele.

Quando o colega chegou, verificamos e, simplesmente, o carro não dava partida. Tentamos algumas vezes sem êxito. Decidimos puxar o meu carro, amarrado em uma corda, até uma oficina na cidade. Deixamos o carro lá e todos viemos para a minha cidade no carro do meu colega. Isso às 1:00 da madrugada.

No outro dia, pedi ajuda ao meu cunhado e ele foi lá comigo no carro dele a fim de tentar resolver a situação do meu carro e poder vir embora. Saímos às 5:00 da manhã com destino a Pindobaçu, onde meu carro estava.

Aguardamos até as 8:00 e conseguimos falar com o mecânico que verificou o carro e constatou que o problema foi no eixo do motor, chegando a lui e não deixando o veículo rotacionar para dar partida. Eu praticamente não entendo nada.

Decidimos chamar o guincho e levar o carro para a nossa cidade, pois lá teríamos mais comodidade para poder deixá-lo pronto. Com esse trajeto todo, acabamos chegando em casa já próximo do meio-dia. Deixei o veículo no mecânico que já faz serviço e foi solucionado, mas tive que gastar um bom dinheiro para o conserto.

Considerações finais:

Aprendi que temos que analisar antes os destinos a fim de que possamos entender melhor as rotas e as condições das estradas. Aprendi também que devemos verificar a mecânica do veículo sempre que formos fazer uma viagem, seja ela longa ou curta.

Mas, em fim, em partes, a viagem foi divertida, pois conseguimos realizar nosso objetivo maior, sendo a graduação, e deixar nosso colega em paz e graduado.

As despesas com gasolina e manutenção foram divididas entre eu, o mestre e o graduado. Todos ajudaram e não acharam ruim.
