PUNCTUALITY

I saw a meme online where this particular question was asked:

If you were to call someone to an occasion and the person comes late you would be rewarded with 1 million naira. Who would you call?

So many people in the comment section where just calling names and I saw one particular comment that caught my attention, the person said

I would call myself.

When I newly entered the university I used to have this school mother that she's a lecturer and when has class before she will get ready to go to class thirty minutes has gone by and I'll be like this is serious.

I was talking to someone of how I can't wait for someone when the time we're are supposed to get there has passed and she was like am impatient, now my work has taught me never to be late for an occasion cause in the work setting if you go late to work you will either be queried or fined. That is not even the main issue, where this whole punctuality started that some people think I'm impatient, the setting of African parents especially fathers that when it is Sunday and time for church then the whole family is not ready but the daddy of the house is ready and then he starts screaming I'm leaving you guys behind.

Till this day, when we go home we still talk to our Dad about it, my elder brother goes into the car and starts mimicking my Dad all those times when he will be like:

I will leave you guys behind and God help you I get to church before you.

For a man that is driving a car, and that thing got registered in our head that Sundays are not for play, we grew up with that in mind cause my Dad is upright in all the does.
So these days I tend to see people who go late to a function or occasion as lazy or careless.
