Enchanted Kingdom of Perlim "Santa Maria da Feira"
Welcome to the Enchanted Kingdom of Perlim.
Hi guys, how are you?
Since it's Christmas time, I bring you the Enchanted Kingdom of Perlim! This theme park is the largest in the country and opened its doors in 2008. Located in Santa Maria da Feira, more specifically in Quinta do Castelo, it has turned the city into an attraction that does not go unnoticed by anyone.
With each passing year, the number of visitors increases, and the themes of the show also change annually. What remains constant are the inhabitants of Perlim: Perlim and Pim Pim who are two twin goblins and who gave the name to this kingdom. As a backdrop we have a castle that is fully illuminated and where the show that closes the daily festivities takes place.
All the scenery that surrounds us transports us to a world of fantasy, magic, love and of course Christmas spirit. I, who love this season, am as amazed as the children around me as an adult. Maybe because when I was little none of this existed, or we only saw this kind of themes and decorations in movies from the United States (Home Alone)!
Theatre, reading and musical performances are spread out and take place several times during the day so that everyone can have a chance to attend. There are also activities that can be done by the little ones. There are queues and some long ones but as I mentioned here before there are no places like this where we don't have to wait to be able to enjoy some things. Inside the park there are lots of trees, so the place itself becomes more magical.
We find stalls to eat but the smell of chocolate that hangs in the air doesn't fool anyone :-) So, in the middle of the afternoon, we took the opportunity to stop and drink a warm chocolate because the cold was already felt. Don't forget to wrap up warmly because as soon as the sun disappears the weather cools down a lot. Before the final show, we took the opportunity to stop by Santa's house. There are lots of soap bubbles in the air and we hear the laughter of those who run after them. The wait is long, but it's worth it to see the joy when you enter the little house. Amazing how we manage to be happy with so little. They with Santa Claus and us with their joy. I would like to stop time at these times, to be able to see from afar how grateful we must be for how lucky we are to have a family, health and the opportunity to enjoy these moments.
From there we go up to the Castle where we see a small musical and where all the characters we have been seeing during the day come together. It ends with a beautiful firework display that delights everyone :-) It's tiring but it's worth it. We see that everyone leaves there with a smile, because even though we are in an enchanted realm of fantasy we all end up capturing the magic that is so well spent here.
I hope you enjoyed!
