Ecological Corridor Walkway - Valongo - Portugal is Beautiful

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog :-)

ecological corridor walkway.jpg

After a day of teleworking, there's nothing better than going out, walking and getting some fresh air. As I have already explained to you here, we live in a city surrounded by mountains, crossed by a river and which in recent years has been enhanced by the walkways that were created here. This city of ours was an escape for many during the pandemic, so much so that at that time they closed access to the mountains due to the influx of people from outside.

PT

The Valongo "Ecological Corridor" is a pedestrian trail integrated into the Serras do Porto Park Regional Protected Landscape program, connecting the city of Valongo to the Park itself. Extending for approximately nine kilometres, this route starts near Parque da Juventude and offers the opportunity to explore Largo do Centenário, Parque da Cidade and Aldeia do Couce along the route.

We chose to do a part of the route right next to our house. One of the places I like to visit when I can because we have a little bit of everything, from the river, to flowers and animals. The sheep were already in storage but we managed to pick some flowers and make some sprigs :-) I'm not an apologist for picking flowers but with the little one it's a little difficult to always say no and this time I gave in. I like her to explore the world around her and nature, to touch, to smell but to take care.

We stayed here for about forty minutes, we found kittens that were from a litter and we went to see the fig trees to see which one would bear the most fruit.
It was an excellent end to the day, calm without rushing and with new learning:-)

PT

I hope you enjoyed.
See you around.
Wishing you much peace and health
