Paul the apostle spent the previous chapter answering questions of the Corinthians regarding marriage. In this chapter Paul admonished the brethren on how to live to please God on one hand and edifying other believers in the other hand

The knowledge of the scriptures we have (if we are wise), we will use it's right. Knowledge plus love is what makes us to be appreciated by the Lord. Knowledge minus love makes the lord keep us at a far distance.

Our insensitivity to some things can discourage other convicts and make them depressed. We can become stumbling blocks and weaken their conscience. Whatever we do to make a believer backslide becomes sin. The lord wants us to stare clear of idolatry in every form.
