The exemplary commitment to the heavenly vision

Some of the Corinthian brethren were doubting the place of Paul the apostle. They were making carnal comparisons. Paul therefore wanted to reaffirm his position and commitment to the heavenly vision. He wanted to remind them of his commitment to the heavenly vision.

The Corinthian brethren doubted the apostleship of Paul the apostle. He had to remind them that he was an apostle to others (the thessalonian brethren, Philippians brethren etc) as well as they themselves. One of the qualifications of being an apostle was that the apostles of Jesus Christ. Paul the apostle was called commissioned and committed to the ministry of apostleship.

Paul the apostle did not answer the questions of the Corinthians with straight-forward answers. He asked questions in return and the answers were obvious in his questions Paul the apostle was trying to bring the Corinthians where they belong.

1Corinthians 9:11-15 Philippians 4:13-15
Paul the apostle was charging the Corinthian brethren that despite his commitment and that of other ministers they (the Corinthians) did not minister to their needs. He was saying that they ought to be as physically and emotionally strong as the members. While Corinthians neglected the needs of Paul and other ministers, the Philippians saw their needs and ministered unto them.
