Horses don't know the seasons

Living in Patagonia it is common to see small herds of horses on any road that is traveled, even on paved roads, which are not many, but safe enough to develop a significant speed with the vehicle, this being highly dangerous in the hypothetical case in which an animal the size of a horse comes across us. For this reason, we must always be prepared and although the landscapes tend to distract us, the effort to be concentrated when driving is extremely important, life goes by in that concentration.

Two weeks ago, with the visit of my friend @hosgug, we spent a few days fishing and sightseeing around the town of Gualjaina, and on one of our trips in search of rivers and streams where we can practice our favorite activity, we came across a small herd that had two cubs just a few days old, it was noticeable in its imprecise and hesitant gait, typical of those that are only a few days old.

According to what I have read about equines, in general, the births take place at the beginning of spring when the climate begins to be mild and the pastures are in a good state of development, to ensure the best feeding and rearing of fillies and foals. However, here we are already in a progressive spring, less than a month from summer and these young have just arrived in the world, so I conclude that horses do not know the seasons of the year or the climate has changed so much that they get confused like many trees and shrubs that bloom before or after what used to happen years ago. Also, birds and other animals tend to have erratic behavior at times.

I suspect climate change is worse than we think and life is slowly but perceptibly being disrupted.

Nothing good can come of this.

I thank my friend @hosgug for some of the photographs that illustrate this publication.
