Today in my blog, I want to talk to you guys about the brand new supernatural horror film called Prey for the Devil. Prey for the Devil is directed by David Strom. This film's about a nun who prepares to perform an exorcism and comes face to face with a demonic force with mysterious ties to her past.

Prey for the Devil is a brand new horror film that has been released this weekend and it is easily one of the worst horror films to come out of this year. I can't wait to shred this film apart. So let's get to it.

Prey for the Devil Movie Review:

Given that there were no press screenings for this movie, I had extremely low hopes for it. There were literally no reviews for the film when I went to watch it. As a result, I'm understandably quite anxious since, often, if a movie has no reviews, it's not very good.

Prey for the Devil is one of those horror films that come out by a mini-major studio like Lionsgate. You think oh it's going to be an interesting movie but it is one of the most boring bad movies. I have seen this year this movie takes itself so seriously throughout the entire run time thinking it's one of these really interesting and great and scary horror films but it just fails to do all of those things.

Negative Aspects of Prey for the Devil Movie:

Let's just Dive Right into the negatives. I had to start with horror since it is by far the worst part of the film. The production team filled the movie with a tonne of fake scary noises that weren't even jump scares. The characters are just there to frighten the audience since there was a loud noise going on that logically makes no sense. We are not aiming to terrify the characters.

I see that the majority of the performers are truly giving it their all, even with this really poor and repetitive writing. The performances were probably one of the better aspects of the film, but I just thought they were really mediocre.

The plot of the movie must be among its worst flaws. Dealing with exorcism, supernatural forces, and demons, is something we have witnessed countless times. I enjoy that kind of horror, but not when it's presented in this movie's monotonous, cliched, and unimaginative manner. Sincerely, I simply lost concentration during the entire movie. There is only really one significant twist in this film, and it is so ridiculous it doesn't even make sense. Although I didn't anticipate it, the twist wasn't that clever.

I am aware that this horror movie has a very low budget, as do most horror movies, yet it still seems cheap. I really can't forgive this since the movie is bad, especially some of the makeup that is actually trying to imitate "The Exorcist" movie. It was now so glaringly clear that I couldn't help but dislike the way it looked. Additionally, I discovered that the special effects just weren't all that impressive to me, especially considering how much CGI is used in this film; not only does it make the film seem bad, but it will also be out of date in ten years.

I really don't but this movie was really pushing me to sleep because nothing really happens in this movie it goes exactly the way you think it's going to go. We have seen this movie literally a hundred times over this movie feels like. So if you don't want a boring horror film and especially one that's bad just skip out on this one.

Conclusion:

Prey for the Devil ranks among the worst movies I have watched over all and is undoubtedly among the worst horror movies I have seen this year. That just feels so uninspired and boring and just trying to cash in on the small budget it has and just trying to be in the Halloween season.

I am giving Prey for the Devil a 4/10.
