Theo's story, forgetting is not always the best.

Good morning to all my friends, I hope you are all very well on this beautiful day. You know, in case you are wondering, I was out for a few days due to scheduling problems and maybe that's why I've been a little absent this week. But well I'm back again with all of you, in one of the best hive communities, our beloved Buskeria community, our home.

Friends in this case I want to bring you a new story, it's been a few days since the last one I brought you so I thought it would be a good idea to bring you a new one today. That's why I decided to write one for the letter 147 Theo. This is a letter that I like very much and I have been wanting to dedicate a story to it for a long time. Well, today is the day. I just hope you like it. As always I would love to read your opinions in the comments. Let's get started.

Friends, you know Theo is a truck driver, but he never thought he would become a truck driver. Do you know why? It's simple but complicated at the same time, let me explain. As a child, his world or his childhood was full of music in many ways. But one stood out above all, the sound of the flute. You see his father was a great musician and flutist, he was very talented and had won numerous awards. It is not surprising that in a way his son Theo wanted to follow in his footsteps. That is why he started learning to play the flute at a very young age. His father was the main teacher, but also on weekends Rafael, a friend and colleague of his father's, came to give him lessons.

But the truth is that Theo preferred his father to be the one to teach him, but due to time and work problems he couldn't be at home all the time, so that's why Rafael came. That way he didn't fall behind in his lessons. When his father was at home, in addition to teaching him, he would tell him stories and stories about how music could cope with everything. And you know, friends, the truth is that this childhood was very nice for him, because he had everything he wanted in the sense of having a family. He is an only child, although he would have liked to have his father more time with him, but it is understandable that for this type of work that is impossible. The thing is that from that young age he decided that music was his path, the only one he could follow, especially being a flutist.

After a few years, when Theo was only ten years old, his father decided to take him to one of his concerts. It was a concert like any other, as he had been to many of his father's concerts. You could practically say that he was born at a concert. But that night was peculiar, because his mother could not go because she was busy at home preparing some things for a trip she was going to make, so they went alone. But Theo was already used to go alone with his father to other concerts so it was not something not to go. On that day, in the concert hall, the air was charged with a strange emotion, or as some people say, “a feeling”.

The thing is that while his father was playing on stage, Theo, among the rows of the audience, couldn't take his eyes off him. The concert started without a hitch. His father played flawlessly and everyone loved it, yet no one imagined that night would change their lives forever, with emphasis on Theo. The thing is that after his father had been playing the flute for quite a while, he simply collapsed on the floor. Everyone thought he had fainted because he was getting on in years and in fact it was not the first time it happened to him. But when they saw that he didn't get up, both the audience and Theo got very scared. Quickly the paramedics arrived and took him to the hospital. After a check-up they learned that it was a fulminant heart attack, so he died instantly.

His father's producer didn't know how to tell Theo, who by the way was anxious outside the room to know how his father was doing. He just didn't dare. So he called Theo's mother to tell her the terrible news. You can imagine how his mother reacted to the news. She immediately went to the hospital and the first thing she saw was Theo waiting for answers. She just fell to her knees in the middle of the room, she couldn't take it anymore. She simply told him what had happened, she didn't hide it from him anymore. At that very moment he felt the world fall apart, for just a few hours before, everything seemed fine and happy. But now, everything was shrouded in chaos and bitter pain.

When they arrived home, after that terrible day, the first thing they saw on the table was the flute, that flute that had always sounded perfect in the hands of his father and with which he spent time learning became a reminder of the irremediable. That night, perhaps by a wrong decision, he decided that the music should be left behind because he did not want to remember or do anything that would remind him of that moment.

After some time following his father's death, the house became a strange place. Her mother hardly spoke, and when she did, her words were filled with an indescribable sadness. The truth is that she became very bitter, she was no longer the same as before. Now she only spent the day blaming the music, and also Theo. Especially when she remembered his insistence to follow in my father's footsteps. She simply wanted to protect him from the same fate of his father, although she knew deep down that this attitude made no sense. But something dominated her to act like that, perhaps her great loss, only she knows.

The truth is that even for Theo, music no longer represented the same thing. He simply said he had to get away from music and what he always wanted to be, a flutist. You know, over the years, Theo adapted to a quieter life, and both music and the flute were forgotten. As I told you at the beginning, he dedicated himself to transportation. Now in the present he is a truck driver, he is very good at his job, he transports valuable goods that are delivered only to him because of his skill. His mother passed away a few years ago so in that sense he is a bit lonely in this world. He spends most of his time in the truck, the truth is a somewhat monotonous life. But in the midst of so much misfortune he has a joy to fight for, because after the death of his mother he married a beautiful wife and together they formed a beautiful family. Now he had the goal of fighting for his family, and the truth is that he lived only for them, because they are the only reason he has to move forward.

His wife and children knew everything he had been through in his past so out of respect for him they tried to limit the music in the house when he came home from work. And above all they never mentioned the word flute. In the basement of the house were all the instruments of his father, in that area no one entered. Although from time to time the children would sneak inside and play the instruments. As I'm sure you can imagine, this made Theo sad because it reminded him of his past. Although you know, as strange as it may seem, he never punished them for that, because while he felt sad he also remembered the good times he had spent in his childhood with those instruments. Therefore he did not lose interest in them. He even had a slight desire to teach them to play them, but fear paralyzed him.

After a while after a difficult delivery, he was taking his truck to the rest area, but oddly enough he decided to stop at a small music store. This was a place he had known for years, as it was a place his father used to visit when he was a child. He simply wanted to remember something of his past, he was tired of trying so hard to forget, now he wanted to remember those beautiful moments again, the ones he had spent with his father. This store was where his father bought him his first flute.

When he entered the store he couldn't even breathe, all the memories came rushing back, so much so that he was out of breath. The store clerks asked him if he wanted me to get him a glass of water and he agreed. After walking around the store, holding back tears, because he didn't want anyone to see him crying in the place, he decided it was time to leave. But not before buying a classic wooden flute. He told the salesman that he wanted it personalized. He had him put his father's name on one side, his mother's name on the other end, and his name on the other end. That same night, after parking his truck, and arriving home, he snuck in. He went straight to the basement and turned on the lights.

There were all his father's instruments that he had not seen for years. He held back the tears so that his family would not hear him upstairs. Then he sat down and took the flute out of the case with trembling hands. He looked at it for a long time, as if he were looking at a part of himself that he had forgotten, which in fact he was. Then he took a deep breath and, at last, brought the flute to his lips. He played the same song his father had last played, the sound was so beautiful that simply anyone standing nearby would have to stop and listen. But he was alone. In the end he couldn't finish playing, for the crying won him over.

His family came downstairs quickly when they heard the flute and his crying. They saw him sitting in the studio, it was a great surprise to them. They knew what was happening there. They knew he had finally remembered again and wanted to overcome his fear. They hugged him and encouraged him to finish the song he had started. Seeing this, he took courage and finished the song. He felt happier than ever at that moment. It was like going back to his childhood.

It was then that he understood what had really happened. He realized that in addition to the death of his father, what kept him away from music was fear, the fear that music could take away more people from his life. From that day on, music, that melody he had shared with his father, no longer represented what it had been. He understood that music was the only way he could heal his pain. The truth is that he finally understood that he was finally ready to face his fear and perhaps take up that dream he had left behind for so long.

My dear friends, what a pleasure it has been for me to share this story with you. Personally I have really enjoyed doing it. Now it only remains for you to leave me your opinions. I hope you liked it. See you soon with a new publication. Greetings to all of you.
