Good morning my friends, another day begins and I am very happy to be here with all of you. The truth is that in this community we have a great time every day playing Rising Star and learning from all the spectacular posts that are shared here. So friends, today I want to share with all of you a new post in which I'm going to tell you my usual music news along with my opinions. In addition to that and as always I will bring you also my updated card recommendation.

So friends today I want to talk to you about a song that probably many of you don't know, I say this because this community is largely English speaking so maybe you have never seen the song. But that's the good thing about this community, everyone brings a little bit of their own culture. First of all I must tell you that I have started to reflect because the song probably doesn't sound as much nowadays as it did in its beginnings. Although of course this is something normal in most songs nowadays.

However, in spite of that, I think it still has an impact, so to speak, for many of us. I am referring to “Tengo mucho que aprender de ti” by singer Emmanuel, which today is 44 years and 16 days since it was released. Something that is curious is the way in which I knew the song. Obviously when it was released I wasn't even born yet haha. It was many years later that I was able to find it.

Actually I knew it thanks to my father. He is from the time of that song so even many years after it was released he still likes it. And well in a way I grew up listening to the song and although it is not a genre that I like very much I ended up liking the song. Maybe it's because I was listening to it indirectly that I came to create a certain connection with it. It happens the same as with food, it's one of those acquired tastes, you know? Those songs that, even if at the beginning you don't understand why you like them, with time you can't put them aside.

In my case I remember that my father used to play it a lot at home when we were little, especially at times when he wanted to relax or while he was doing some chores around the house. That music had something that took him back to his youth, to that era of Spanish music, what some of us in Spain call the “Prodigious Decade”. The music of that era was incredibly good, and Emmanuel was one of the great singers of that time.

Going into the song itself, “Tengo mucho que aprender de ti” has lyrics that, to this day, I still find very profound. It talks about the humility one can feel when standing in front of someone who seems to have all the answers, that feeling of vulnerability and admiration at the same time. It's a classic ballad, and sometimes I wonder if songs like this aren't seen as much nowadays because maybe we've lost that touch of simplicity and honesty in music. It feels like you're talking directly to someone, acknowledging how much you have to improve and grow. It's a statement of humility, which, if you think about it, is not something you always see reflected in modern love songs, where it's often all about perfection.

Of course, maybe at the time I didn't understand it that way. When I listened to it as a child, it was just one of those songs that were around at home, but with time one draws conclusions and understands the lyrics better. And I think that's the magic of this kind of songs. In my opinion I think the songs of that era had a kind of depth that we don't always find in today's music. I am not saying that modern music is not good, because there is everything, but I think there is something in the productions of the 70's and 80's that made each song have a kind of “soul” so to speak.
