ASK LEO: WHAT ARE THE MOST SEARCHED CRYPTOCURRENCIES ON GOOGLE IN 2022?
For cryptocurrencies in general, this year has been nothing short of a roller coaster; from the incessant crashes to the negative effect of the FTX saga, among others. It is incredible to see how a good number of these currencies have weathered the storm and survived.
If you thought of “BITCOIN” as the most searched currency on google in 2022, then you’re very correct. Aside from Bitcoin, a number of other cryptocurrencies have also topped the list of most popular searches this year.
It's nearly impossible to not comprehend why BTC is ranked first in the global ranking of the most sought cryptocurrencies given that it consistently dominates meetings and activities linked to the cryptocurrency space.
Bitcoin has remained the top cryptocurrency in Google searches. As per data from dollar geek, Bitcoin saw a search of 4,570,000 every month in the US in 2022. The most popular coin, currently trading at 16,833.41, saw 28,410,000 global searches every month.

Seeing how much influence Elon Musk of Twitter has over the famous meme coin, it’s no surprise to see Dogecoin(DOGE) take the number 2 spot in the global most searched list. At the time of writing, the meme coin had a total of 5,850,000 monthly global searches in 2022, and 729,000 monthly searches in the US only.
SHIBA INU (SHIB) holds spot number three in the most globally searched coin in the year 2022 with a total search of 4,430,00 in the world, and a total of 1, 290,000 searches in the US alone (exceeding DOGE in the US).
Naturally, one would expect Ethereum to take the very next position after BTC, but this is not the case, as Ethereum (ETH) is number 4 on the list with a global search of 3,840,000, and a US monthly search of 611,000.
The very last but not least is Avalanche (AVAX) with a total of 861, 000 global searches and 534,000 us searches monthly.
Litecoin (LTC) with 796,000 global searches grabbed the sixth position. Cardano (ADA) stood on the seventh rank with 1,470,000 searches globally but only 247,000 US searches, which is less than LTC’s 269,000 US searches. Ripple’s XRP, SafeMoon, and Nexos stood in the eighth, ninth, and tenth positions respectively.
