Admiration of friendship

I hardly believe that true love exists because my mom tells me that most men out there are just interested in what they need in every woman. I grew up with that mindset all throughout my teenage period.

This makes me remember one day when my male in school got excited about what I did for him in the class, which had to do with school activities. He gave me a peck on my chick, and I felt like this boy had passed his. I try to raise my hand to slap him due to what he did, but I find it difficult. But that day, I almost cried out of my eyeballs because I wasn't expecting it from him.

Well…..

I grew up with a strong belief in having a distant friendship with someone of the opposite gender. But getting to adulthood. Someone came into my life as a friend and created sweet memories for me.

Hmmm……

Just one faithful day, after having a stressful day at work, on my way home, inside the bus I slept on, which is known to be a public bus, the conductor shouted at my bus stop. I jumped up from my sleep and alighted, not knowing that my pause fell from my lap when I wanted to stand. My phone was inside the pause, as were my ATM card and my work identification card.

When I got home, I realized it. I was really perplexed, not knowing what to do. Then my mom said, let's call the number and see if someone can help you see it inside the bus.

Lo and behold, the phone rang, and a young man picked it up and said, Oh yes, I saw it. When it fell from your lap when you were about to drop off the bus, I knew you would definitely call your number to see whether it was going or not. But your pause is in safe hands.

When I heard this statement, I was relieved and felt so excited. We have a place and time to meet.

The first day we met, we got connected through eye contact. I got carried away with his appearance and his body stature.

He gave me a pause, and I was grateful for it. Then, in a joking manner, he said, I guess you seem tired that very day, and I smiled and said yes.

I hope you don't mind. Can I have your contact information, please?

I froze for a while and said, Why? I just want us to be friends on social media. And reply, no problem.

While I was resting in my room later that evening, he gave me a brief

“Hi”

It led to some hours of chatting; I got carried away, not knowing when I slept off.

Days go by, and our friendship goes deeper. He became my number one friend, and I'm always eager to see his morning greetings and evening calls. Because he has one or two gifts that brighten the smile on my face before going to bed.

One day, after our night call, he asked, “Hope you don't mind if I take you out for a date this coming weekend?”

I was so amazed to hear that, but glad to hear that because I have already developed an interest in him. I planned my weekend properly.

It's been a nice day, as I was expecting. I put on the best gown that I love most, and we both fit our dates on the beach. That day seems to have been my first day at the beach.

It's been a nice day that has left me with sweet memories. I enjoy the coolness of the weather and the warm spring water that waves the sweetest and deepest side of my life. Now, that person is my number one and can never be forgotten.
