If I saw Galenkp This Weekend

avatar
(Edited)

I only joined this blockchain about a year ago, and who I am now is very different from who I was then, as I have met people who have helped shape my perspective on life and helped me grow here on Hive. One of such people is Sir @galenkp. And this weekend, I'll be sharing what I would do if I did see him in person.

jpg_20230113_231309_0000.jpg

Before anything else, I am wondering how on earth that could even happen as I am miles and miles away from where he is. But hey, just imagine with me that I am in his town for whatever reason it may be. However, I would like to paint the scenario and circumstances under which I would love to meet him.

Say there's a mural just down the road I'm walking, and then upon reaching there, I find him. What could he be doing there, though? He takes a lot of photos (and really good ones), so I'd expect him to be right in front of the mural doing what he loves: taking photographs with his camera; given that he likes the mural in the first place, of course.

Then I, surely recognizing a person I adore, would walk up to him and say, "Oh, hello, sir. It's a fine afternoon to be taking those amazing shots of this mural, innit? And even more so for me to just stumble upon Sir Galen himself. "...like I didn't paint this scenario in my head already.

I imagine he'd look at me strangely, wondering who this young man was who dared to approach a man with a stack of guns and sniper rifles (I wish). I'd just go on to remind him that I'm that kid that storms his posts with words longer than those in Lincoln's letters. Hopefully, he'd remember.

Hopefully, he'll have some time for this boy—say, 24 hours XD. I have a lot of things I'd like to learn about him—or rather, have firsthand experience with him.

divider4.png

Firstly, I would like to see him type. He is pretty fast on the keyboard, but I'd like to see him run his fingers around his keyboard while making a post about this weird kid he met today... I wish. And also to see his favorite keyboard for typing; I know he's particular about the keyboards uses. Somehow, this is on the list.

Sir Galen has guns. And I think he has quite a number of them; I'm not sure. But I'd like to see them and possibly touch them. I've never even held a gun, let alone fired one. So I'd be hoping he wouldn't mind showing me how he goes deer hunting on the weekends—and maybe even bring us some steak. Although he no longer eats steak much, so that will be more for me.

Oh, yeah, he has this pair of boots that he has been wearing for many years and that have proven themselves until a few months ago, when he had to replace them. Yeah, that one. I'd like to ask if he still has them, so I could see for myself just how much of a service they have been for him.

If I forget his Big Dog, then I have failed. He pimped this vehicle of his a couple of weeks ago and tweaked it to his liking. He says it's more powerful and more efficient than it used to be, which came at a costly price. I'm not sure how I'd persuade him that a boy like myself can handle his big dog, but imagine if he does let me take it for a spin with him. I am so driving that baby!

divider4.png

He has a lego collection, and he shares about them
every now and then. I am not missing this opportunity to see them for myself as his amazing photos of them make me admire them.

And also, I need to know just how big these things really are. And also have some chit-chat about his experiences with some of them, particularly his favorites. Maybe even take photos of them for myself.

Okay, this next one may not have the right timing for it to happen, but it would be cool if it could: having coffee with him.

I would like to, you know, hold some conversations with him about his life's experiences and all that. He is a man of principles, and so I would trust to have my mindset shifted for the better by learning from his words.

The most intriguing thing about him, which I just learned about, is that he has a solid background in music. I was pumped to learn that he actually plays the piano and even went to music school in his day.

Oh, what a delight it would be to hear him play—maybe some of his favorite pieces. And also, if he has a guitar, play music with him. Interestingly, some of his favorite songs that he shared on Hive tell me we'd make some really cool music together.

divider4.png

These are all fantasies, really, because I'm not sure in what dimension this would happen. But hey, it's a chance to let him know how much I admire him. And who knows? This day may be nearer than I could imagine.

Before anything else, I am wondering how on earth that could even happen as I am miles and miles away from where he is

Magic makes all sorts of things happen.

Firstly, I would like to see him type. He is pretty fast on the keyboard

Here I am...

Sir Galen has guns. And I think he has quite a number of them; I'm not sure. But I'd like to see them and possibly touch them.

I have loads of them and no worries, I'll take you shooting...Just promise not to shoot me, our yourself...and I'd let you drive my 4x4 there as well. You break it...you bought it though. Lol.

He has a lego collection...And also, I need to know just how big these things really are.

The Lego builds are big...I'm planning a post one of these days, to show the scale.

I would like to, you know, hold some conversations with him about his life's experiences

This is possible, and I'd like to hear yours, and your plans for moving forward also. And then we can play some music...Deal?

Thanks for putting this together, a great entry this week.

😂😂 That GIF cracked me up. Makes me want to think you are always enthusiastic about typing.

I figured you should have lots of guns, as I have seen many photos of different ones of yours before. No worries, I promise to not shoot you or myself when you take me shooting. I wouldn't want Mr. Bonkers tracking me down for life - that is if I don't execute myself as well. 😂

And no, I cannot buy your 4X4. I would be walking on eggs, so I better not hop. I'm an excellent driver, by the way. For my little 7 years of experience anyway. So I think we are good!

The Lego builds are big...I'm planning a post one of these days, to show the scale.

I'll be reloading and reloading to find that post. I need to see that scale.

This is possible, and I'd like to hear yours, and your plans for moving forward also. And then we can play some music...Deal?

Oh, wow. My experiences? I'm not sure they are tantamount to anything. I'm only but a kid to you sir.

The music, on the other hand, is a big yes for me. Picture with me sir, Sir Galen Ft. Olujay in Knuckleheads Left Right Center 😂

I am so excited waking up to see your comment, sir. I was wondering all night (in my sleep) what you'd think about my post about you. I'm glad you liked it.

I'm trusting someday, I'll get to have chats with you off Hive. Have a splendid weekend, sir.

Oh, and my final exams are coming up in a week. I am graduating in a few weeks.

I'm an enthusiastic typer, of that there is no doubt.

'll be reloading and reloading to find that post. I need to see that scale.

Don't hold your breath on this one, I have to take all the images first...Once I've got them I'll start to do the posts. It'll be fun to showcase the Lego, I've not done many Lego posts lately.

I'm only but a kid to you sir.

Yep, I'm as old as the dinosaurs!

Knuckleheads Left Right Center

😂

All the best for your exams, I'm sure you've taken ownership of the lead-in to them and will get the right results. Thanks for your post, it was good and I liked it a lot.

Yes, sir, I have been making my preparations as efficient as they can be, albeit challenging due to the surrounding stress that comes with being a senior. I am confident I'll come out victorious in the end, notwithstanding. Thank you for your well wishes, sir.

Again, I am glad you liked my post. Happy Sunday, and enjoy your coffee (if you are taking one at this time in Adelaide).

There'll be coffee today...there was already one, and I have to go out so I'll get another...might be a donut too.

Oh, I see. More coffee today. Cool.

Will the donut be chocolate-covered ones, or regular donuts? Ours over here are usually regular donuts covered in sugar. I am only curious, though.

Chocolate donuts are my favourite; they're chocolatey and donuty...What's not to love?

I like those cinnamon and sugar ones too.

All donuts really, but chocolate donuts are the go-to.

"Chocolatey and donuty." Now that sounds fabulous for my palette.

Cinnamon and sugar sound tasty as well. Although, I'd prefer the cinnamon to be minimal, as I am not much of a fan of plenty of it.

I guess that's one more interesting thing about Sir Galen then—he wouldn't turn away a juicy chocolate-covered donut.

If a donut tastes cabbagely...then you're probably eating a cabbage. (That's a famous quote I heard back in my youth, I've lived my life by it. 😊

The cinnamon is the least of the ingredients, just a very light dusting is required. It's actually added into the sugar, not the donut.

he wouldn't turn away a juicy chocolate-covered donut

He would not.

😁 Interesting quote you had back in the days. It definitely still stands and will forever do so.

It's actually added into the sugar, not the donut.

Oh, I see now. Then I guess it'll taste good as well.

He would not.

I wonder, did he ever make donuts at some point?

I wonder, did he ever make donuts at some point?

Not yet, but there is a legit Finnish donut, called munkki, that I want to make. I had them when I was in Finland and fell in love with them. One day I'll make them.

I am trusting my dreams will come true. I'd be excited for it to happen.

So you do know Sir Galen? He's really cool.
And are you from Venezuela?

Oh no dear @olujay sorry for the confusion and late response. I still don't know Mr. Galen, the day I do everyone on the platform will find out hahaha I will see to it.
I must retake my English classes, I don't want to be using translator, first it is uncomfortable and second it is not always clear message.

And yes, I am from Venezuela. At your service here.

Wow, you seem to know a lot about @galenkp. The guns, knives, boot, I am aware of and I can tell that you will definitely acquire a lot of knowledge from him.

Talking about fun, he is a master at it even though he loves to have it lowkey.

If you have met him, you will have watched the young artist do some magic with his brush. Meeting him would make your weekend a very memorable one.

Well, I think I do know this much about him because I have been reading his articles for months now. I grew fond of him over time.

He is a really cool man, honestly. But he is not "young" like you described. 😄 He'll be 53 this year.

Thanks for coming around, man.

Oh, I know he isn't young like mentioned but in the heart he is. He is actually an uncle to a young artist and I meant that you could have met him if you saw him truly, this weekend

Sounds like a fun weekend! I'd be a lot simpler...shoot all day at the range, then hang out on the beach and fish by a fire, and maybe smoke a good cigar. Might even crack out some sipping whiskey, and pan fry some fresh fish!

👍🤠😁💗

Oh yes, a fun weekend it will be indeed. You should meet sir Galen. He's super cool, and the whole reason this weekend would be awesome for me if I did meet with him.

What's your favourite brand of cigar, by the way?

All you have mentioned where stuffs of Sir Galen, my dear friend olujay. Hehe. I have noticed the guns, his lego, and all. I have been following galen’s stuffs, self-development community, weekend experiences, outdoors and more, all were really amazing. And you know, one thing I want is to have coffee with him to talk about interesting stuffs as he also love going to a coffee shop before work. Have a great day my friend and take care.

Oh, so you do know Sir Galenkp well. He's quite an intereting man, don't you agree? I love all of his posts and they teach me a lot and have helped me grow in the past couple of months: he does have a really fascinating perspective.

I would so love to have that coffee with him, maybe ones of those times he goes to a coffee shop before work.

It's good to see you around, pickchip. I trust you have been holding up just fine. Do have a wonderful weekend, and take care as well.

Really nice post, I really enjoyed reading it!

You are very attentive to what Galen writes heh heh! It is clear that you really want to know him and you have expressed it in an original and very beautiful way.

I don't know why but I feel it will happen and in any case I wish it for you... and for me too eh eh!

I have been following him for quite a long time now. I didn't think much of him than a strict person, but with time I came understand just the kind of person he is. He is principled, but other than that, he's pretty awesome.

If it does happen that I get to see him, I'll be really happy.
Thanks for reading, and my apologies for the late reply - examinations over here.
