CROSSING MY 100 HP MILESTONE ON HIVE

Hi there!

You would have figured from the title that I joined HIVE just recently. The thing is, I had this account created in February, but I started being active in April. It took me two months to begin being active.

When @starstrings01 introduced me to HIVE, it all seemed more like a facade. I mean, it was all contrary to things I was accustomed to. Let me explain.

How it started...

Being on a platform where I could share my thoughts, talents, and growth uninhibited by social norms. I could find many people sharing theirs too, and being inspired by them as well as learning from them.

The possibility of connecting with people thousands of miles away but never far away. Having conversations and relationships that inspire, enlighten, and, as well, produce growth. Being empowered to view matters, concepts, and approaches from different perspectives.

I believe so much that every individual has the capability to influence and inspire others in ways one may not consider. The powerful tool of having one's voice heard is indescribable.

So, to have all these handed to me, with nothing more than participation, devotion, commitment, and will required of me, and then to even be rewarded, you could agree with me, could be seen as crazy.

How it's going

I was not a writer before joining HIVE, and I would not consider myself one yet. But being here is pushing me beyond my limits. I really never saw myself as being one to put my thoughts, opinions, and ideas into words.

And one fascinating thing I have seen is that with writing, I have been learning a whole lot more. The drive to write puts me in a position to learn as well. Whenever I come up with an idea or concept that I want to talk about, I do a lot of research to enlighten myself more and teach myself.

@starstrings01 brought me on here for something entirely different from writing. We are both guitarists, and he saw I had potential I could share. I haven't been sharing my music yet, as I have been exploring a lot of settings and tapping more into it. But I assure you, beautiful sounds are on the way.

I digress...

Another way HIVE has been helping is by learning about blockchain and its prospects.

The world, as we know it, is in another evolutionary stage. There are now so many sectors that are now adopting the blockchain. Extraordinary technology brings so many benefits to documenting transaction records of data and even money.

Documentation of the ledger of physical assets and non-physical assets with so much security and immutability it offers, as well as transparency, is a game-changer. Existing facilities and future ones to come employing blockchain technology are simply taking themselves to the next level.

And the most prominent feature of using blockchain technology is decentralization. This has brought the concept we now all know as cryptocurrency. Where the issues tied to middlemanship are eliminated, and we now get faster, transparent, and secure transactions.

The digital rights that blockchain offers brought the concept of NFT (non-fungible token) that has given so many opportunities to creative creators to have secure digital ownership of their creations. The NFT space has grown so much since 2017 and has transformed the world's perspective on possibilities with digital rights.

I know I have digressed😁, forgive me.

Let's talk about some of my experiences here on HIVE.

I would like to say that I am quite an observant person. And, because I am always interested in making the next better than the previous, I try to spend time to take careful notes from excellent works that I find. But then, you know how it is, when one's new to some things, you could find yourself jamming some challenges. And these challenges, as frustrating as they may be, are sometimes the stepping stones required for your next level.

When it comes to developing the posts, I try every time to make them as presentable as I can. I try to make my own thumbnails with Canva. And you, dear reader, if you use Canva, will agree that Canva does have its own challenges. It's one thing to have a picture in your mind, and it's another thing to bring that picture to life. I go to the lengths of even using the Snapseed app to edit my photographs some times, especially for tech reviews. I am not a photographer, but I love to see good photos.

And for movie reviews, which I enjoy doing, it becomes such a hassle sometimes to put a film into perspective. Seeing the movie twice and taking notes along the way and putting my opinions into perspective and portraying my thoughts.

I'm thrilled to be here, and I'm looking forward to bigger things in the future.

I have, and still am, learning so much in the short time that I have been here, and there is only so much to become yet to be.

This milestone may be quite small, but nonetheless, I am super glad about this milestone that I have crossed. The next goal for me is 500 HP, and I'll continue to put my best efforts into my work.
