Dillon Falls - Deschutes River Central Oregon
Been in a bit of a posting slump lately. Hopefully I can break out of it with this blog from a trip a couple months ago. Dillon Falls is a section of white water on the Deschutes River in Central Oregon. It is not a classical vertical drop water fall but it does have some raw power as it makes its descent. So join me for a quick visual tour of Benham Falls.
The Calm water meets the beginning of the falls.
The event horizon as the water begins its plunge over the edge.
The beginning of the tumult. |

Not sure if the sound of the video below does justice to the actual roar of the water.
As the water continues it descent it begins to make a 90 degree turn.
The area that might be considered actual vertical drop waterfall.
An interesting rock formation.
About to go up for a little better view.
The tumultuous water from above.
A last look back...
And then the river continuse its journey down stream.

Beautiful pictures.
I was at the river today, it was no where need as full as your one, but still very enjoyable. xxxx
Thank you!
I always enjoy the sound of running water. Whether it is big or small. 🙂
The power of nature is amazing. You can feel the power of the water.
Loved the video! Gorgeous pictures and what a beautiful place!
I too was amazed by the roar and power of the water churning down the rapids. Good thing about shorts on inleo is it has inspired me to take more videos. 🙂
I am with you on the shirts on Inleo. I have taken a ton, I just need to start posting from my InLeo account 🤣
Whoa - that river with rapids and falls is just amazing. What a beautiful location and photos. I would love to visit it.
I'm glad I finally got around to visiting there. The power and roar of the water going down the rapids was awe inspiring.
Fabulous photos @oldmans, from calm smooth waters to roaring gushing waters! Thank you for sharing the clip of the waterfall! The sound of water is so soothing and yet invigorating at the same time.
You're welcome! Walking along the smooth river and having it change into a tumultuous frenzy in a short amount of space was quite astonishing.
Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
It must have been a lovely walk!
It certainly was. One I would do again quite readily! 😀
