Things Are Heating Up and Trees Are Leaving Out

Happy Tree Tuesday

Although the nights are still cool, the week ahead is promising high temperatures in the 70s. That is plenty warm for Springtime in my book. In other words for those of us that have fled the cold weather for a warmer climate, I would rate it overall as not too shabby.

The power of life is amazing…

Here are some new stems complete with new leaves popping out of where it appears a big old branch had been cut off.

Everywhere you look down here there are white blooms on the trees. Many of those trees are Bradford pears that were planted by landscapers for decorative reasons. As pretty as the blooms are, they do not smell very good. The trunks are also apt to split making them undesirable. Add to that the problem is that they are an invasive species and tend to multiply and take over; so much so that the state of Virginia will give you three trees to take the place of every Bradford pear that you destroy.

Even with all the negative bandage, I still have to admit the blooms are quite beautiful.

I think seeing a bit of green amongst a sea of brown is certainly a good omen that winter is over and spring is certainly here once again!

We need a remarkable tree community on Hive.
But trees are very difficult subjects to make good pictures

I love Trees. I’ll join that Community. I share lots of Tree photos from the Boreal Forest in Canada.

No lie... they stink when they bloom, thankfully that doesn't last long! They sure are pretty though.

Definitely plant them away from the house if you are determined to have some, so if they split there is nothing important to fall on. I've known some to last many years with no problem, so I don't know what causes some to split.

WOW I love your photos! Spring is definitely sprouting there! I would take the state up on that 3 trees per one removed. Sounds like a great opportunity to bring some diversity to your wood - which would make it even more beautiful than it already is... and it is beautiful. I agree those flowers are lovely!
