Balloons Everywhere

This is not exactly what I would call a stealth version of a hot air balloon.

Have no fear friends, this is not another iteration of the Chinese balloon drama. These balloons were launched in Michigan in 2019. Funny I took the shots with my Panasonic G7. That was my first "real" camera and I dont even own it any longer. Yet, I can remember being so happy and excited to shoot anything back then as photography was so new to me. I wish I had the same desire to get out and shoot now.

Forty years early...

I hear we are up to three "objects" so far. The first was the Chinese spy balloon downed last weekend near Myrtle Beach SC. Yesterday we shot down an "object" around 40,000 feet in Alaska. Now today, remarkable we shot down another "object" over northern Canada!

I do find it odd that no photos or videos have been released from either of the two smaller objects. I have heard only that they were cylindrical in nature.

I think if it is going to become a daily occurrence, then I am going to buy some Raytheon stock as those AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles are not cheap! 😄 However, I am sad to say it, but I am not sure we will ever be given the truth about these "objects". Funny how sometimes the truth just floats away just like these balloons did...

Even I heard about it, all the way out in the middle of nowhere!

What? You don't own Raytheon?

Will there be another tomorrow? I hope not, this is getting ridiculous. When do you go back down South?

Nope I only own junk stocks sadly.

We havent really heard what these last two are, as opposed to the overload of info with the first one down to what callsigns the pilots used... The total lack of any info seems weird to me. I must be really jaded because I am not sure how much I can trust what they decide to tell us anyways.

Not sure when I will go back. They are getting a good bit of snow down south tonight I believe. Perhaps you can extend your stay...

I wont be home for a while. My kids reported no snow in my neck of the woods, but I am sailing on, just in case. 😀

I just talked to child #3 and she said it has been been in the mid fifties and low sixties. Check your weather! Can you really be that much different than me?

Kinda spooky how these lyrics fit!

Could only find the punk cover version with lyric video but can confirm it’s original lyrics

Yeah.... there seems to be something hokey about all this.

Nearly nobody understands how the first balloon was allowed to travel from one end to the other of our country with nothing being done. There was talk that there was a second spy balloon at the same time as the first, but suspiciously, there has been no more mention of that one. Did they lose sight of it??

As for the other objects, I'm wanting to see those too. Certainly we didn't take them down without visibly tracking them first. We at least knew one of them was in our airspace for up to 24 hours before they took it down. I don't know whether to believe that is real or not of if old Joe is just trying to save face after he didn't handle the first one right.

I always feel like we never get to quite know the truth on these things.

Your hot air balloon photos though are really pretty. I love seeing colorful (non-spy) balloons floating across the sky.

I am not sure if it is because I am getting older by the day, but I feel increasing out of touch with the current world. How fast things have changed and how we cant seem to get much right anymore as a country.

Nothing that spectacular about the price action of Raytheon Technologies Corp at least so far:

Lockheed Martin has seen good appreciation:

Everybody is buying F35s. HIMARS is all the rage and the missiles are made by Lockheed Martin. Poland has ordered hundreds of the launchers.
