A True Scary Halloween Story
Gather round y'all for a real scary Halloween story that just happened to me tonight!
Now it is rather well known that the OldGuy is rather cheap. However I make it a point not to be cheap when I am giving out Halloween treats.
First I start by buying quality candies to give away. For example I buy Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Snickers, Milky Ways, Kit Kats, and Hershey chocolate bars. I also Splurge for glow sticks to make bracelets and necklaces with.
Then I double bag these into about approximately 2 lb bags. Based on the turnout from last year I figured I would need 24 bags.
Of course the weather was very nice today being that a t-shirt and shorts was the perfect attire to pass out the candy. I am quite certain the weather was a major factor in the number of trick or treaters. In a word we were swamped! Needless to say the 24 bags were gone in a flash, which left us scrambling for goodies to give out. Ben and I ran through our personal stash that we were holding back for our personal enjoyment. Next I went through all of the single dollars that I had in my wallet. In the end I had to resort to giving handfuls of change from a big jar I had been collecting over the years lol. Funny enough the kids seem to like the coins. Perhaps the uncertainty of the amount they were receiving added to the thrill.

I was being amazed at the amount and quality of the goodies you were giving out.... and then you ran out ! Horrors !!
LOL.... at least you had some options to resort too. Next year it will be 50 or 75 treaters as word gets around there was free money this year.
