Tell Mama.
Hello Mama, I know it has been a while since we spoke
It's always a mixed emotion whenever we speak
A feeling of pride and also that of missing you from my fake leak
Tell Mama I'm still pained she's not here to see me get to the peak
She saw the future then even when all I saw then were bleak
I wish she can see me enjoy some winning streak
For her, with her in mind, for success I want to be a freak
Tell her that from her, I learned how to be meek
Tell Mama I made it and I am doing great too
Tell her I've touched the place my name went ahead of
Tell Mama that I missed her and no one compares to her
Tell Mama that I still remember her smile that warms my heart
And I still remember her favourite spot in the house
And I don't see that spot without thinking of her
I want Mama to also know that I still sniff her clothes sometimes
I want Mama to know that her words of advice still ring true in my ears
I keep them close to my heart and I stand out among my peers
Tell Mama I am still on my way to the desired future
Tell her I won't relent until I tick off every achievement
I won't stop until everyone knows I'm my Mama's son
I won't stop until she looks down from heaven and smile
Smiling, pointing at me and with her words saying: "That's my boy"
I hope I can look up to heaven and catch your smile too
The image is rightfully mine.
Thank you for your time.
My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks, with speed and ease.
Still me,
My tongue is like the pen of a ready writer.

It's really sad when she's been the one cheering you on from the sad but isn't there when you cross the finish line
It's really sad and that's how life is sometimes. Those we want to be there might not be there for the long haul.
This is a touching poem. Only you can feel this deeply as you have. You captured the heart of your readers and gave us full insight into how much she means to you. She is still cheering you on.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, I believe she's still cheering me on and I will do all that I can to be who I am supposed to be.
I believe that too. Well done.
Thank you.
Awww, this is just sweet. I am sure that she is out there and already pointing you as her son, proud and loud ☺️❤️
Thank you so much for this dear. I am grateful. It would be nice to catch a glimpse of her smile and sight.
Like in a dream no? Hope you dream of her tonight.
I would give anything for that. Thank you.
I'm sure your Mama would be proud if she happens to read this.
I really wish she can. Thank you.
oh, I am sure you're Mama is so proud of you Ola!
Thank you, Lhes.
This is so beautiful. As a mother myself, if my children write such a poem as yours to me, I am more than proud.
Ever heard of this proverbs?
"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."
The meaning expresses the absolute truth that the person who raises a child, usually the mother, imbues the child with personal characteristics and beliefs.
That child may/will have an impact on future generations and the world. So, even though she was no longer around by this point, that mother, through her child, influenced the future and, as the saying goes, "ruled the world."
Sorry for your loss, May her soul R.I.P. 🌹
That's so beautiful and indeed, the hands that rocks the cradle rules the world because their influence would forever stay. Thank you so much my friend.
"For a son, their mother was their first love and forever will be." Blessed be your heart!, @olawalium
Always and forever... Thank you my friend. 🤗
I had to drop tears while reading this. Ola, I'm damn sure your mama is already proud of you. May her soul continue to rest well.
Amen. Thank you so much. God bless your heart. Your words mean so much to me.
I believe she'll be proud of you whetever she is. May her lovely soul keep resting on God's bossom. Great write up @olawalium

It's my pleasure sir

Oh man, I look at the photo and remember my mother's death, she died of a lung problem caused by smoking, some years ago, however, I can't get over her loss, maybe time will help me.
Some people treat their mothers so badly, I don't understand their attitude, but as I told you one day, KARMA takes care of everything, life returns the good and the bad.
your post moves me
I'm glad the post moved you and I'm so sorry about your mum. It's painful to deal with. With time it gets easier but the memory isn't something that goes away.
Aww, I'm she is now an angel watching over you.
She was one on earth too. Glad she will continue to be one over there too. Thanks dear.
This is quite emotional. I'm sure mama would smile upon reading this, wherever she is.
Remain strong man.
Thank you so much, brother. This means a lot.
You're welcome
