Grow!
We have been mandated to continually grow in grace. Growing means to progress and once you have given your life to Christ, you need to grow and not stay static. God will always do His own part and we also have a part to play in growing. Growing cannot be forced which is why you have to be intentional about yours.
There is a process for growth and just as we have been invested in our physical growth, we need to do the same for our spiritual aspect too.
Just like the seed that has been buried on the ground...before we see the progress as obvious from yhe surface, the root will first gain firmness with the ground. We need to be grounded first, be intentional and hold our Christian values so dear.
We live in the world that tosses you around and without a strong conviction, you can easily get swayed by the things you see around making your firmness loose.
We need to live a life of discipline and that is also applicable for our physical and spiritual growth...even to our social, financial and mental growth. Nothing happens by chance. There is no gift of knowledge, only the discipline of study. You can't have things just drop on your laps...you need to make things work. If you want to grow, you have to work for it only when you have taken your own steps can you expect things to happen.
There are principles to life and the sad reality is most people ignore that and just want things to happen magically because they believed. God doesn't encourage laziness or lack of effort. When you are in the middle of the sea, keep calling on God, yes, but don't forget to row to the shore. Only the efforts taken can God bless. What do you want God to work with? That's where you doing your part comes into play.
Grow in the Grace of God because the Grace of God preserves. Grace also gives us the ability to DO what we wouldn't naturally want or be able to do. Notice the keyword there; DO. We still have a part to play. It stems from the willingness of the heart. Grace teaches us what we need to do as well because the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that we need to deny all worldly lust and uphold good virtues.
Grace is also an avenue where God can help us...we can obtain mercy in time of trouble and the days of need. Christian principles teaches us to endure, focus on God and also point us to what we need to do. Most of the time we make it transactional rather than just rely on God and take the needed step we are expected to.
When we desire to grow in Grace, we become like Christ...
Humility is key in our journey. Humility is different from low self esteem. Humility is not thinking yourself more than you ought to while low self esteem is thinking yourself lesser than you ought to.
Get down from your high horses and stay grounded. Stop feeling proud because you have bread to eat...remember someone owns that bakery. Life is fickle and you won't go with anything but what you do for others...that's growth.
Thank you for your time.
