Splinterlands | Strategies | Death Splinter | Winning Combination
Splinterlands
Death Splinter is my second go-to splinter in Splinterlands. It is a known fact that my favorite is the Earth Splinter. But I have posted enough on the Earth Splinter. It's time to look at my winning strategy with the Death Splinter.
The Death Splinter is clearly my next go-to set of cards in the game, because of some good summoners and cards. We will see a few of them in this post. Let’s go then. What are we waiting for?
But before that, shall we spend a minute getting to know Splinterlands? After all, that’s where you will find all these fun battles, rules, and monsters.
What Game is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. It was founded in 2018 and is still going strong. The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning. By now, you would know that the governance token (SPS) airdrop made millionaires out of the early adopters. It still keeps giving and remains a fun and engaging game.
To give you an idea of how lucky you can get in Splinterlands, read my story of getting cards worth $500 from buying only a few packs worth $20.
Got Cards Worth $500 from $20 Packs
And this is just a tiny number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling them for as high as $6500. There is a whole Splinterlands marketplace on the Hive blockchain and now on Wax too. And now the sales of the Rebellion packs, the newest of the lot, have also started.

The Death Splinter | And Strategies
One of the summoners in the Death Splinter, Thaddius Brood, is the most effective in combat. The summoner reduces the opponent’s magic attack and health by one. That’s a handy thing, especially in low mana battles. Not only the summoner but also monsters with thorns, shields, self-heal, and more abilities are available within the Splinter. As such, Death Splinter helps us to launch one of the most comprehensive attacks.
That’s one of the reasons to like the Splinter. I have a good win rate with Death and it is only second to the Earth Splinter. Time to see some battles, then?
Yes, it is. Let’s go.
The Battle | Frowns and Angry Brows
We will take a look at the rules and then proceed to the battle.
It is a medium mana battle with 28-mana as the maximum cap. But there are three interesting rules in play. The first is the health-equalizer rule, followed by the no-shield rule, and finally usage of cards with three or more speed. Out of all the rules, the one to seriously focus on is the health equalizer rule. We need to select monsters correctly making the most use of their attack values and abilities.
Will we be able to do it? Let’s see.
The Face-Off Screen
And here is the lineup.
Both the opponent and I chose the death splinter. My team is at the top of the screen while the opponent’s is at the bottom. I tried to fit in monsters covering most functions. So, there is a card with thorn (tank), dual attack, sneak-ability, magic, and ranged attacks. It covered a good range of attacks. The health equalizer then did its trick and gave all monsters the same level of health.
We Battle Hard
By the end of round 2, it seemed even-steven.
The opponent and I had lost our tanks, but my card in the second position with bloodlust was charging up. It looked good to me, but it was still too early to say anything. Either one of us could take this game away.
And The Battle Races to Conclusion
The battle crawled to conclusion, actually.
It took my team roughly six more rounds to finish off the opponent’s team. It was a strong battle where even my monsters lost out. I think the dual-attack monster with bloodlust got most of the opponent’s monsters.
I won at the end. 😊
A Hard-Fought Battle | An Interesting Result
This was indeed an interesting battle that went right up to the eighth round for my team to secure the win. It was evenly matched earlier but eventually, my team made a huge dent in the enemy lineup. I was pleased with my choice of cards.
I loved the battle. How about you? I hope you enjoyed reading about the battle too. You can also look at it live in the links provided below. Have fun! 😊
