Splinterlands | Kron-Llama And Quora

For a long time, beating the combination of Llama, the summoner, and Kron The Undying was nearly impossible. Such was the difficulty that if I ever managed to win that battle, I would write about it. I am sure others faced the same issue.

After a very long time, with Quora Towershead and the blood-lust, it appeared that a worthy opponent was found to the Kron and Llama pair. But I didn’t ever get a battle where I had the opportunity of having them face off. That is, until now.

I finally got them fighting, and that is a battle for the Splinterlands' ages. Let’s look at the battle. But before that, shall we spend a minute getting to know Splinterlands? After all, that’s where you will find all these fun battles, rules, and monsters.

What Game is Splinterlands?

Splinterlands is a digital card game that allows you to collect, trade, battle, rent, and even earn from the cards. It was founded in 2018 and is still going strong. The game gives Play to Earn a whole different meaning. By now, you would know that the governance token (SPS) airdrop made millionaires out of the early adopters. It still keeps giving and remains a fun and engaging game.

And this is just a tiny number. I have witnessed people getting uber-expensive cards in their pack and selling them for as high as $6500. There is a whole Splinterlands marketplace on the Hive blockchain and now on Wax too. And now the sales of the Rebellion packs, the newest of the lot, have also started.

Quora and Kron-Llama Pair | What’s That All About?

The summoner Llama comes with three abilities with the two important ones being the last stand ability and cleanse ability. Now, Kron the Undying comes with self-heal and heavy magic attacks. When we couple the two, that is, Llama and Kron, the Kron gets last-stand ability (assuming it is the last one in the team), greater attack value, greater health, and its self-heal cannot be undone because of the cleanse. That makes a literally unstoppable pair.

Now, in the recent past, Quora Towershead with the self-heal and blood-lust ability was the closest that could come to the Kron-Llama pair. Quora had the self-heal ability too and that was quite a strong one when coupled with the blood-lust ability. So, with each kill, Quora’s stats would just keep increasing without any upper limit.

The real deal would be both of the above going against each other. And that’s what we have here.

The Battle | Frowns and Angry Brows

A quick look at the rule, and let’s get on with the battle.

It was a 21-mana cap rule, and each monster would also get two shields. In hindsight, I realize that the opponent managed to get the Llama and Kron while I did Quora in such a small mana battle. 😊. Interesting!

Let’s see how the battle goes.

The Face-Off Screen

Both, the opponent and I, chose the Earth Splinter, and that’s how we ended up with Kron, Llama, and Quora in the same battle.

The opponent’s team is at the top of the screen, and that’s where you notice the Llama (summoner) and Kron the Undying in the last position.

My team is at the bottom half, and that is where you notice Quora Towershead in the second position. The card in the first position is with martyr-ability, and if it perishes, Quora automatically gets a bump-up in all stats. So, that was an advantage.

We Battle Hard

It was near the end of round 5 where Quora and Kron came face to face.

Kron had already attacked Quora, and that’s how Quora’s health is at 12. But Quora has an attack value of 14 – 7 in magic and 7 in melee. That’s a huge attack. Kron has an attack value of 5 and a total health of 18. That is big too.

Was it big enough, though?

And The Battle Races to Conclusion

By round 8, one opponent reigned supreme.

Yes, Quora dealt the final blow on Kron. Kron’s health of 18 couldn't help much when Quora was dealing an attack of 14 each round. But it still took three rounds for the battle to conclude after Kron and Quora came face to face.

I was quite impressed. Moreover, I won. 😊

A Hard-Fought Battle | An Interesting Result

So, here’s the answer to the question of who wins when Quora faces the Llama and Kron pair. It is Quora, indeed. Of course, the outcome would change if the strategy was different or if it was a higher mana battle. For the given mana cap and strategy, Quora was the winner!
