avatar

So today i want to share my cooking skills here ,
This is my first time of trying to cook this native soup of the efik/Ibibio people of Nigeria known as the" Afang Soup",
I know non of you reading this will have a taste of the food but i will just like to share how i was able to cook something with just 4500

  INGREDIENTS NEEDED AND THEIR PRICES

(Photos by me)

Smoke fish =600
Dried fish. =400
Cowskin(kpomo)=600
Periwinkle. =200
Ukazi/wild spinach leave=200
Water leave =200
Crayfish. =200
Red fresh pepper =100
Meat /stock fish = 2500

Total cost =4500
Other ingredients includes :
red palm oil ,
Star maggi cubes (4),
Table salt , onion
Note :i already have the above mentioned ingredients at home.
So the first was that i had to wash the meat and stock fish using hot water and after that i had to cook both of them together for 15mins.

Then i had to slice the water leave

After that i got to pound the ukazi/wild spinach leave using a mortar

(Some people can chose to blend their own if they chose by adding little water)

So after that i got to bend my pepper and crayfish together, then i sliced the onions and cut the cow skin(kpomo) into small particles

After that i added the the pepper and onions to the boiling meat and added some amount of oil too..
Added 3cubes of maggie
,
and some salt altogether in the pot..

Then after 10mins i added the water leave first ,then stired it to blend with the meat ,added the smoke fish and dried fish too and also the sliced kpomo meat along..

The last thing i added was now the pounded ukazi leave and then i boiled for 3mins..

Thats all guys in 28mins my afang soup was ready and yea it did taste good too

Incase you want some you can come over to my house.
