I am grateful to GOD
From the moment we are born until we die, we will always be in need of other people (this includes God of course), however, there are people who are not interested in being the help of others, as well as there are people who, when receiving help, are not grateful.
And it is that receiving a "thank you" does not fill our bank account or our fridge, but it is the way we seal that feeling of goodness that someone who does something for our benefit can feel and leaves the door open for that person who has done well keep doing it willingly with others and even with yourself.
I think that has been the theme of today in general and I would like to share with you the experience of this day and some of my reasons to be grateful.
At the beginning of the day, after a bath and a good breakfast, we prepare to go to Church like every Sunday. It is a custom for the girls that after their mother has dressed them, they come to show me their clothes as if they were models. so today I took the phone to take pictures of them. To my surprise, when they saw that I was going to take photos of them, they stopped modeling and hugged each other to appear together in the photo.
I immediately noticed how big they are, looking again with my own eyes at how much my daughters have grown, I was able to thank God for the privilege of being a father and having them with me, because he has not allowed them to lack anything and that It's just an act of God's love and kindness to me.
When I arrived at the Church, the service had not yet started, I stayed with the youngest girl and went to greet everyone, including my colleagues from the musical Ministry, I sat for a while on the drum seat to wait and to my surprise my daughter When she was 1 year old, she took the drumsticks and began to play the drums, she was not a professional at playing but for her young age it seemed interesting to me that she did not hit a single place but several of the elements that make up the drums, she also hit and stopped as if to analyze the sound it made. Perhaps it is the beginning of an interest in music that can bear good fruit in the future
People were arriving and little by little the place was filling up, all the activities were related to being grateful and a girl that I estimate is about 7 years old asked for the microphone to spontaneously sing a song, one that she composed herself, everyone was amazed.
Soon we were ministering the music to an environment full of people reflecting on the good things God had done in their lives, we were all given a small piece of paper to write down the reasons why we were grateful to God. Some decided to express their appreciation publicly.
In the preaching the pastor spoke about gratitude focusing on the story about Jesus and the ten lepers in Luke 17:11-19.
Ten lepers who were waiting for Jesus in a certain city and who, looking at him from afar, begged him to do them good, that is, the healing of their disease, to which there was no response such as "be healed" but they were asked for an act of faith, while they were still sick they were told to present themselves to the priests and as they were obedient when they were on their way to what was entrusted they received healing.
Although 10 were healed, only one returned to give thanks, if we use the population and sample method, we can say that only 10% of that population was grateful. From the answer that Jesus gives to the former leper, he does not seem very happy with the ingratitude of the other 9, and it is that he was not asking for payment for what he did, but only expected a thank you!
I think ingratitude is part of pride, not recognizing that thanks to other people we can obtain benefits in difficult times. We prefer to pride ourselves on believing that we are self-sufficient by deceiving ourselves and being ungrateful.
Only when we break pride and ego is when we are able to present ourselves with a sincere heart to thank those who do us good without expecting anything in return. So thanking is not only an attitude of education but also of humility.
God had not finished surprising me because the children's classes soon passed and in the teaching exhibition my eldest daughter had a participation that she did excellently, watching my daughters serving God and doing things for Him is something that has no price, something that I thank God for allowing my eyes to see and that I ask that it always stay that way.
A place was also prepared for all of us to place the thank you notes that we had written on that piece of paper that had been given to us.
I am grateful to God, first of all for the privilege of life, because when the doctors diagnosed that I would die 3 days after I was born, God has allowed me to live for more than 37 years, showing that his love and mercy is above any medical diagnosis.
Because it has allowed me to know his word and serve him for most of my life, turning me away from the dangerous paths that youth offers, turning me aside to serve him since I was a child.
Because it has given me a precious family, daughters who give me joy every day and reasons to fight in the midst of hostile circumstances for my pocket.
For the good people who have allowed me to meet, both locally and in other environments including Steemit, those great friends who in one way or another have extended their hand in a gesture of trust and support, those who have been there in the hardest moments where the majority abandons you.
