You need a collaboration of smart work and hard work to excel as a student.

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Education is a sector in every country that requires a lot of attention, though the governments of many countries ignore that, and they pay dearly for it in the long run. For a country to thrive, it needs educated people—people who are learned to push the country forward. The community, the country, and the world at large need education, as it serves as the substructure on which everything else depends.

For how far we have come with technology and the amount of technological advancements that we enjoy, we all owe it to education. It is as a result of education that we have all that we have today: life made easy, communication, transport, and all made easy through technology and education. Technology has indeed given us the option to work smart and get things done, unlike back in the days where the only option was to work hard. Today you can either choose to work hard or work smart, and we all choose which to go for, as no one would want to undergo so much stress for something that can be easily done.

Can students do better with less stringent rules?

Yes. With how far we have come with technology, students are definitely going to do well with less stringent rules in place. With the amount of technology students have at their disposal, if only they are allowed to have access to it, then they don't even need to work really hard to excel in their academics. Today students have artificial intelligence to help overcome every difficult task; there is no need to go brainstorming like back in the day, as all they have to do is give instructions to artificial intelligence and wait for the results in minutes.

With less strict rules in place, students are definitely going to do well, though it will be detrimental as students will become lazy and not want to work hard anymore. A senior colleague of mine said, "If not that my protective supervisor would not want it, I would have just gotten my project topic and project work done using ChatGPT." I never knew ChatGPT could do that, but he sounded so sure like he must have tried it out, so with fewer rules in place, students will excel and get good grades but might become lazy and not want to put in the work since they have technology to do that for them, like in the case of my senior colleague, if not for his supervisor, then artificial intelligence would have gotten his work done whole, and he relaxed.

Is our traditional way of writing exams still working? Can it be adjusted to meet technological requirements?

Our traditional way of writing exams using pen and paper still works, though the process can be slow and stressful and can easily be manipulated, but it still works. Our traditional way of writing exams takes time for results to be released as it requires human efforts to get the work done, like in my school every computer-based exam (CBT) result can be seen immediately after submission, while those written with pen and paper take about two months before results are released.

Yes, it can be adjusted to meet technological adjustments requirements. Probably a marking scheme added to a system, and the system is used to mark written work, thereby enhancing the fast release of results.

I agree with you that collectiveness of both hardwork and smartness that inspire something even more mind-blowing on the students.
