When tables turn, a point is proven.

"I have been a worker for so long in this company, and I feel getting promoted from being a delivery guy to the position of a production line manager is a well-deserved promotion." I thought to myself on my way to work.

Working in a bottle and sachet water producing company was a lot of stress for me back then, but I still stayed dedicated and fully focused on working my way to the top. It took a very long time of hard work and dedication to get noticed by the management, and they had their eyes on me even though I was not aware I was being watched. The position of a production line manager has been vacant for over a few months, and everyone in the company that deserves the position actually has their eyes on it and is hoping that they are given the position since the pay is juicy and less stressful. The production line manager is one who controls water flow and makes sure that all the reservoir tanks are filled

image is mine.

The position of a production line manager is one that I have mastered since the previous guy was a close friend of mine; he shared everything with me about the production line; whenever he was going to miss work, he would call me to cover for him, and that way I learned all that I needed, which makes me fit for the position too.

"Do you know that getting promoted in this company is something you really need to work yourself out for? Sometimes you might work yourself out and still not get promoted." Daniel, one of my colleagues, said to me that on reaching our workplace, it feels more like we have been thinking the same thing.

"Why do I feel like we have been thinking the same thing, bro? I have been here for over two years and still no talks about promotion, even as there is a vacant position." I responded

"I heard the boss wants to put his brother in that position instead of someone that really understands how the production line works." Daniel said

"So all my efforts and hard work will still not be rewarded." I said to myself as I got to work.

"Hey, kachi The general manager wants to see you in his office, and I think it is urgent." The secretary said, tapping me on my shoulder.

If my colleague had not told me about the plans of the general manager wanting to fix his brother in the vacant position he knows nothing about, I would have been extremely happy, but I already knew, so now I was only left wondering why he called for me.

"You called for me, sir." I said on reaching his office with a young man in the office that looks exactly like him.

"Yes, I did. We all know that you do deserve the position of the production line manager, but I am sorry we could not give it to you." The general manager said

"It is not a big deal, sir; you do what is in the best interest of the company." I responded with a sad face.

"Here is my younger brother Austin, and I will like you to teach him all that you know about the production line, and from there he will be able to carry out his duty perfectly as he will be the one to fill the space." The general manager added

"Okay, sir, nice to meet you, Austin." I responded as I shake hands with Austin and leave the office.

A few weeks later, the table turned, and I got what I deserved. I left to deliver as usual, and it was like the whole company was on fire as everyone kept calling me to come back.

"Kachi, where are you? Leave where ever you are and head to the company now." The manager sent me a text since I stopped taking calls because it was too much, and his text made me head to the company.

On reaching the company, Austin made a mistake while channeling the water, and it caused two pipes to break, causing water to flow out of the reservoir tank as well as causing a part of the company to flood, and if not arrested soon, would result in more damages. I rushed to turn off the horsepower pumping water to that particular reservoir and from there managed to fix the broken pipe.

"I should have let you keep the position, and maybe this would not have happened. You can have the position of the production line manager as my brother will be going back to school." The general manager said

"Thank you, sir." I responded with smiles on my face.

Thankfully, your manager realized his mistake. It's really unjust to be treated that way, and if that happened to me, I can't really endure that treatment... I'll really file a resignation ahahhaha. You really deserved that position, @offia66! Thanks for sharing.

That guy almost destroyed the company with his incompetence. There are people who don't know how to set boundaries between family and business and the results are these. Fortunately you solved the problem. and you got what you deserved for your efforts and discipline at work.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Good day.

This is the problems we are having not only in private sectors but also public sectors. People are incompetent are used in place of competent people all because the former has connections.

It's good to see that you finally got what you deserved.
